The heap of clothes inside the changing room was growing as I declined most of Natalie requests.
I was very insecure about my body despite it being a slim frame, nevertheless I was nervous to try new clothes.
I was on the last hanger when I spotted the cream dress, it was perfect for me. Flowers decorated the skirt beautifully in every colour imaginable, the skirt was short and ended mid thigh with ripples on the hem.
The sleeves were long and consisted of a silky, cream lace which was soft to touch and the neck of the dress was a short turtle neck, with a black stripe.
I gaped at the dress in awe before changing rapidly into it. Opening the changing room door I heard a gasp, I turned to see Natalie standing with two Starbucks in hand.
"That's perfect! I knew I could do it! Let's go pay for it." She beamed
"But Nat, we don't have any money.." I Whispered so no nearby shoppers could hear.
"Don't worry I got it covered. I knew this day would come so I saved up some money." She beamed once again, It was hard to contain her excitement.
I removed the dress to put my sweatpants back on before going to pay for the dress, Natalie also kindly bought me the matching black hat with lace ribbon.
We were walking down the high street with steaming, hot coffees and a Topshop back before we stopped outside of Selfridges.
I had never been one for makeup, except from a few years back when I went out clubbing and Natalie had done my makeup, so had never really been to the makeup section.Natalie forced me inside before rushing towards the numerous counters. She was a serious makeup addict, considering she studied it at college it could be understood.
I was pulled over to a counter that was matte black with a sign emblazoning 'Nars". Natalie rushed around picking up different glass bottles, before matching them to my face to find my skin tone. She then picked up a small powder compact, a small black box and a few lipsticks.
We walked over to the counter where Natalie payed for the items, thanking the cashier before we left the building. By this time it was dark so we decided to head out for some Nandos for late dinner, the nearest was a few blocks away so we walked to save money from the tube.
Upon entering Nandos, I began to regret my decision. The restaurant was full, but a small table at the back of the room could be seen unoccupied.
"Table for two please," Natalie asked the waiter at the front of the restaurant.
"Your in luck this is the last table ladies." He winked at Natalie, this was expected she was exceptionally beautiful so had guys flock around her on occasion, whereas I was just average. Nobody noticed me, it was like I was hidden in Natalie's shadow, she knew I felt this way and always tried to help but it never seemed to work.
