Title: memories by the river

I still remember when we used to hang out by the umpteen river ever since we were kids. We would play hide and seek or lay down on a hot summer day.

Later those playdates turned into real dates on a boat. I would sing you my love, and you responded with a kiss. Those were the days, until your vagary tore us apart.

One day I waited for you but you never came. A day turned into a week; I thought you died. When I asked around about you, someone told me you turned zealot towards the four-armed woman statue. She supposedly told you to leave everything behind for her, and you did without question.

Now I waft through the river alone, watching the xeriscape flowers floating by. Everyday I question myself about the changes in our lives, if there is posterior happiness and love for us, and why you couldn't be more devoted to our beating hearts, our screaming souls that wanted to lay together for one more day every day.
