"I still haven't figured out how to sit across from you, and not be madly inlove with everything you do."
~Anonymous

"This company has been around for generations and throughout its lifetime we have only donated to charities twice!" Mr. Harrison said emphasizing his point by raising two fingers.

"This charity is extremely important; the money will go towards the boys and girls who reside in children's home. If we refuse to contribute, people will certainly begin to turn away from us,"another added.

He cornrowed his forehead and a disappointed look instantly settled upon his face. "Only two times!?!!"
Shaii had been seated in this meeting for about one and a half hour and his butt was beginning to hurt. He and his staff were debating about whether or not to contribute towards this charity.

"I have to say; you all have put forward a very good case. And you are right, the last thing we want is to appear stingy in the eyes of the public. We'll meet tomorrow morning to discuss the appropriate price of money to be donated. This meeting is adjourned."

Everyone began to gather their things and soon they all left the conference room leaving Shaii sitting alone. He stared into space as his face resembled that of a blank page. He sighed loudly. He needed to relax but what exactly did he need to relax from?

Hearing about the children's home brought back memories. Those kids...They are growing up without a mother and a father. Shaii knew how they were feeling to some extent. His mother died when he was only a young boy and though he had his father, his mother's presence was greatly missed.

"If you don't get down here within two seconds Shaii, I'm leaving you!"his mother hollered.

"Here I am!" Shaii shouted excitedly leaving his hiding place behind the curtain and dashing himself into his mother's arm.

"Why must you frighten me so?"she said playfully while tickling the boy causing Shaii's laughter to erupt throughout the house.

"Huh? Huh? Why must you frighten me so?"she continued to tickle him.

"If you guys don't leave soon you'll miss the ice cream shop," Cornelius interrupted them walking in with his morning paper.

"Well, aren't you coming with us?"

He looked at her intently before releasing an exasperated sigh. He walked over to her, opening his arms for her to enter.

"Kathy.." he started in the "I'm sorry" tone.

"No! No! That's what you said last time. You need to..." Instantly she remembered Shaii and placed her hands over his ears,"spend time with your son; he'll start to think you don't care!"

"Kathy I'm sorry," he began moving towards her aiming to kiss her but she quickly flashed her head to the side resulting in a peck on the cheek.

"Whatever," she stated flatly.

"Don't be like that babe," he pleaded.

"Come on Shaii. It's just me and you. Again. But don't worry we'll eat tons of ice cream together!"

"But I want Daddy to come too!"

She instantly looked at Cornelius, sending daggers at him with her eyes.

"I know sweetie but Daddy's busy but he'll make it up to you. Come on hon!"

Cornelius had been so preoccupied with raising the standards of his company that he began to neglect his family. Kathy just wished that things could go back to the way they used to be. A boy needed his mother but he needed his father too.
