"Mate," I whisper softly, cupping her cheeks. She leans into my hand, sighing to my touch. The instant that my skin touched hers, sparks flew between us.

"Aiden.." Mathu warns, making me turn around to look at him. "She's a vampire. She can't be your mate. Stop playing around and kill her," He growls.

"Watch your tone, I know what I am doing." I warn him in the most calm and threatening way possible as I turn back to face this beautiful creature.

She can't be a vampire. I can hear her heart beating, she's breathing, I can even smell her fear. She can't be a vampire. They must've made a mistake.

"Come on love," I whisper, trying to pick her up.

"No," She growls, her eyes glow a captivating Violet. She pushes me off of her. I stumble back onto the ground in shock. What did I do? Does she know what I am to her? Is she scared? Why is she here?

As soon as I hit the ground, the pack members close in and surround her. I could hear her heartbeat speed up in fear.

"Stand down," I command but my command goes on deaf ears.

"She almost killed you," Mathu warns, helping me up.

"I-I- Don't know you. Why am I here? Who are you?!" She screams in panic, cowering over in fear.

Clouds form overhead, catching all of our attention as the sound of thunder rumbles through the forest.

"L-Leave me alone. I don't know any of you," She looks around, her breathing becoming uneven.

I take a step towards her, making her eyes focus in on me. "Stay away from me," She warns, holding her hand up. Just then, a lighting bolt strikes right between us.

We all look at her with questioning looks.

Did she just- No. Impossible.

"Joe, go get her." Mathu commands. What the hell is he doing?

Why is he defying me?

"Stop!" I growl, walking in front of her. "No harm will come to her and that is an order," I yell, using my alpha tone. I'm not alpha yet but they will listen and respect me.

"Yes Alpha," They all grumble in unison.

I slowly walk towards her, holding my hand up as a warning that we won't hurt her.

"Stay back!" She screams, holding her hand up. Out of nowhere, a lightning bolt strikes right between the two of us.

I turn my head around to see all of us wearing the same look of confusion on our faces.

What the hell happened? Did she do that?

"I ju-just want to go home, please let me go," She cries in fear, visibly shaking. I could hear her heart beating a mile a minute as her eyes scatter around me and the group.

"Come with me. We will figure things out," I offer, holding my hand out with my pleading eyes.

"No, I don't kn-" Her body falls forward onto the ground, making me take a step back.

"What are you guys doing?" Shane, one of my pack members yells, holding his hands up in confusion. He knocked her out.

He walks out of the shadows, coming from behind my mate.

"I was handling the situation." I grumble, clenching my jaw shut.

"Yea, looked like it." He mutters sarcastically, walking towards the group.
