May's POV

My life is so freaking hectic. At this particular moment in time, I am sitting in a restaurant with my family. Well, not family family, they're friends that I consider to be family (although right now I'm close to telling everyone in the restaurant that I have no idea who these people are).

As we speak Jesse is sitting quietly, staring down at his phone as if nothing is happening, he's like me- awful in these types of situations. My bestie Madeline -Mads for short is trying to tell the waiter what she wants but has to shout due to Jordan and Anna. Jordan and Anna are twins (most definitely not identical), and are currently having a screaming match in the middle of this uptown restaurant. Our other friend Liam, is trying to break up their argument, and looks as if he's about to grab the waiter's notebook and slap them with it. Or better yet, he looks so angry that he might just pick up the waiter.

This is my family.

Yay.

I realize that I may not be coming across as the most affectionate person in the world, but hey that's me. I'm the sarcastic and dirty-minded friend. I don't need to be affectionate. You might be a little confused, let me give you some background to my family and me.

My name is May Brown and I'm 17 years old. As I mentioned before, I'm the sarcastic, dirty minded one in the group. My besties are Madeline Roberts (17) and Anna Lemmings (18). Mads is definitely mad. She has an obsession with tea and conspiracy stories (this one time, she tried to convince us all that the royal family and the Kardashians were, get this, shape shifting reptilians). She's the witty friend with the big house that we all practically live in.

Anna is the bubbly friend that never falters to lift your spirits. She may be kinda happy-go-lucky but, if you get into an argument with her, there's nothing left to do except start planning your funeral and beg for God to have mercy on your soul.

Jesse and Jordan are her brothers. Jesse is 19 while Jordan is 18. Jesse is notoriously shy and awkward, which is why it befuddles me that he has a girlfriend. Maybe he has some real pulling power under that layer of awkward nerd.

Last, and certainly least, is Jordan. Damn, he's such a cliché. He is the group's bad boy. Notorious for the parties he throws, and even more well known for what he does after them- with girls...if you catch my drift.

So that's us, just one big happy family. Really, we are. It even seems too good to be true.
