Recess. The best time for an elementry schooler. Not for me. It was only Blake and I. Everyone hogged the swings and the slides and the monkeybars. Anyone would give up their swing for Blake. Blake was loved by everyone. It's just like it was in kindergarten. He was like by everyone. I was a nobody in everyone's eyes.

"Hey Blake!" Cassie cooed. I figured her out in second grade. She was very flirtatious. She had a crush on Blake. She walked up to Blake and me. "I want to show you something ove there." She pointed to a tree. Without waiting for an answer, Blake's arm was taken into a tight grasp and brought over to underneath the tree. I was left there. Alone. Feeling betrayed.

I stood there for five minutes, waiting patiently. I kept glancing over to see if Blake was coming back. Finally, I got annoyed and kept my gaze at Blake and Cassie. Hearing something to my right, I looked over but saw nothing. I averted my gaze back to Blake and Cassie. What I saw was something I can't ever forget. Blake and Cassie were kissing. With tears fillimg in my eyes, I turned around and started rumning away, hearing Blake calling me im the distance. I didn't look back. I couldn't.

I had to hide. I just couldn't. The playground had nothing to hide in. All the trees were back near where it happened. I couldn't face him.

"Megan!" I heard my name from the distance. I knew who it was. I don't believe I've ever run that fast. I tried to lose him, but I couldn't. He was too fast. "Megan!" my name got louder and I knew he was right behind me. A hand grabbed my wrist and I knew that hand all too well. Great. I stopped, turned around, and looked at him. Tears still fillimg my eyes and falling down my cheeks. "I didn't kiss Cassie!" he was bent over panting in between his sentences. I felt fine though. "She kissed me." he stood up straight and looked down at me. "I would never leave you," he smiled. I stood there crying. "H-Hey! Did I do something wrong! Stop crying!" he said frantically trying to get me to stop crying. He hugged me tight. "Remember? You're my best friend!"

Like normal, I was sitting in my math class. Like every other class, I have a window seat. Like every other class, I was staring out the window. Mr. Luong was teaching like normal. Mr. Luong is Asian and he didn't have much hair, though the hair that he did have was black. Everyone loved himbecause he was sarcastic and didn't care what you did as long as he wasnt teaching. Even though I wasn't paying attention to any of my surroundings, I heard the door open. I looked over at the door and saw him. The one and only. Blake. I froze. The only open seat was next to me. Blake would have to sit next to me, right? My life is over.

"Who are you?" Mr. Luong said.

"I'm Blake Tanner. I just started school here today, sir," Blake answered. All the other girls in the room swooned at tne sight of Blake. I gagged.

"Well, Blake, the only empty seat is the one next to Megan. Go sit there. Megan raise your hand." I never raised my hand.

"It's okay, I can see the empyy seat," Blake said smiling as he caught sight of me. I slumped down in my seat while groaning, Blake starting to walk over to his new seat.

"Now, where was I? Oh yes, so, in order to get this variable by itself, you need to undo all of the other variables," Mr. Luong continued teaching.

I looked out the window not wanting to look at Blake. I felt a tap on my shoulder but I thought it was my imagination so I ignored it. I got tapped again. I looked over and sure enough it was Blake. He was holding a folded piece of paper. He stuck it out to me. I reluctantly took it. Opening the piece of paper, I started to read it.

'Did I do something to you?' It read.

I got my pencil and started to write, 'Don't bother me,' but i was interrupted half way through.

"Megan, why are you passing notes?" Mr. Luong was right in frong of my desk. I heard 'oohs' from a lot of people and got nervous. "Well?"

"Uh, uh, uhm," I stuttered trying to find the right words to say.

"Uh, sir," Blake cut in raising his hand, "I was the one writing notes. Don't blame her, blame me." There were murmurs around the room.

"Why is he standing up for little miss emo?" , "What the hell, she's not even cute."

I ignored their coments and held my attention on him, my face screaming shocked. He was just looking up at Mr. Luong.

"You get a free pass this time, Blake. Next time it won't be my fault," Mr. Luong said turning around and walking away.

Math went on as normal as it could. I could feel the stares around me. I didn't care. I was used to it. When Mr. Luongvwas done teaching, everyone started talking and doing their work. I just did my work. I felt more and more presences and I knew there were people talking to Blake.

"Why did you stand up for miss emo?" , "Do you like miss emo?" , "Did she blackmail you or something?"

I raised my hand quietly anf asked to be excused. I was granted permission and left in a hurry. I heard Blake before I shut the door closed.

"She's my best friend, of course I would help her!" he said before I closed the door.

Hurrying to the restroom, I accidently bumped into a girl. Cassie. Great.

"Oh, if it isnt miss emo," Cassie said.

"Excuse me," I said quietly trying to get out of her way, but she stepped in front of me again.

"You aren't going anywhere," she said. Cassie backed me into a wall. She started tugging at my hairvand eventually pulling it. Me, being the tender-headed girl I am, let out a small cry. That only seemed to make her thirst for more because she started slapping, kicking, and punching me. I couldn't do anything about it either. I was too weak. I felt my consciousness slowly slipping away from me when I fell to my knees. Cassie kept kicking me.

"Blake..." I quietly said.

"Oh, sweetie, your lover has been gome for five years now. You think he'll come back? That's so cute!" Cassie said before kicking me again.

"Megan!" I heard Blake call from down the hallway. It seemed like he was in a big hurry. Before he could get to where I was, I was out cold.
