The thing about Victoria Stevens was that she was unpredictable. Unpredictable in the sense her thoughts were wired differently, even causing her closest friends to decipher whether they actually knew her or not.
She was secretive, manipulative, and only cared for herself. Some say she was using her friends as her little toys to play around whenever she felt so. Whether or not it was true, her friends were loyal. Loyal to the point they were frightened to reject what Victoria said or did.
That being said, it lead her four friends slowly trailing in the old graveyard of Eastbourne in the middle of the night.
"This is stupid," Sage mumbled, rubbing her arms to create heat in the cool may air.
"You do realize we have a two tests tomorrow-" Jenna commented as she trudged through the muddy ground.
"Remember a week ago during exams you stayed up till like three watching glee?"
"Okay, but that was different, it's gl- oH SHIT VERA!" Jenna said before grabbing the short strawberry blonde girl by the arm and picking her up mid fall.
"What?" Vera yawned as her body slumped and he eyes slowly blinked. "Are we home yet."
Melina rolled her eyes before grabbing the sleepy girl's hand and putting it around her waist for support. "C'mon, I got you."
The four girls trailed on in silence until they reached the center of the eery graveyard. Even though, they did what Victoria asked, it was still evident that there was a negative mood filtered in the air, except from Melina. Melina whether she liked to admit it or not admired Victoria and did just about anything she asked. She would always defend herself by saying that it was what good friends do, but everyone knew she had a big soft spot for Victoria.
"It's been nearly ten minutes and she's not here. I could have been watching youtube or dreaming about chris evans," Sage stated, tapping her foot impatiently.
Vera yawned in agreement, "he's hot."
"She probably ditched us," Jenna shrugged with distaste. Jenna and the 'alpha' of the back never got along as well as the others. Maybe it was because she stood up for what she believed in and wasn't in favor of people bossing her around, or because she truly saw what Victoria could be. But even people like Victoria had their good and bad. Besides, the two had practically grown up together since their parents had been close.
"She wouldn't do that," Melina said looking around. "Her text seemed urgent anyways."
"For something that seems urgent, she's sure lacking the 'urgent' part," Vera whispered to herself audible for the others to here.
"Just trust what she's saying. She said she'll be here soon," Melina defended kindly.
But even with the urgent text and the four girls standing in the graveyard awaiting the arrival of their best friend... Victoria never showed up. There were no sounds of movement throughout the woods surrounding the graveyard, nor was there a following text or call. There was nothing.
And little did they know, they would never see their best friend again.
