Chapter 1: "It's happening! I am not prepared!"

Steve's POV:

" I am freaking out Tony! I am not prepared!" I said in a panic. The wait was killing me. It's happening, I'm gonna be a father...

9 months earlier...

I heard a shreek come from our bathroom. "Steven! It's happened!" Bailey shouted from the bathroom.

My hands began shaking. My heart began to pick up the pace. "What does it say?" I asked. Dying to know the answer.

She ran out of the bathroom and showed me the result. "Oh my gosh..." Was all I could say.

"We're gonna be parents!" She yelled happily. I picked her up and twirled her.  The I set her down.

She grabbed my face affectionately.  "Steve, we're gonna have a baby." I was grinning from ear to ear.

"We have to tell the team." She nodded in agreement.

We both walked down the hallway holding the others hand. Only Thor, Bruce and Tony were there. "Where's everyone else?" I asked Tony.

"Clint and Natasha are down stairs seeing who'd win in a fight." Thor stated while watching Chopped. His favorite cooking show.

"Well get them up here. We have something to tell everyone."

"What ever you say love birds." Tony called for them using his new system called Friday.

Couple minutes later they came up to the main floor. "Who won?" Bailey asked.

Clint shrugged while Natasha smiled. "It was a tie." She said, seeming to be out of breath. "What's up?"

I grinned at Bailey. "You wanna tell them?"

She laughed. "Sure." Then she turned back to everyone. "Everyone, I'm pregnant."

Tony fell with a loud thud, Natasha squealed while Thor and Clint cheered. Bruce was in disbelief.

After their brief moment of celebrating they helped Tony off the floor. "When did you guys find out?" Tony asked, still dazzed from the news.

"This morning actually. We wanted to tell you guys as soon as we knew. She's gonna need a stable family." Bailey sighed. I knew she never had a 'stable' family. But I want to give that to her. I want to be better then how her father was. And that's what I plan to do.

I grabbed her hand. "She'll have one." I promised her.

Present Time...

The day felt like hours. Like and eternity. None of the team was here which I found that odd. It almost made me angry. They should be here, for Bailey. And me.

Then, Tony and Natasha rushed threw the door. "Did we miss anything?" Tony heefed.

I sighed. "No, your lucky you didn't."

"Sorry Steve, we got stuck at a meeting. Which is still going on by the way, Ross wouldn't let all of us come." Natasha apologized. Although by her face she seemed more distracted then sorry.

"In fact," Nat checked the time. "We have to head back. We'll fill you in when you get back." She began to rush off but Tony stopped her.

"Nat, look at the man." He then gestured to me. "He's about to have a baby. He's gonna be a father. I don't know about you but I think Ross can wait. And if he calls then I'll put him on hold. I like to watch the line blink."

She paused for a moment."Alright, we'll stay."

Time felt like it went on forever. Till the nurse said I could come see Bailey. I looked at Nat and Tony for comfort.
