The cars zipped through the tunnel, the wind nipping at my face. It sent a wave of longing, to remember what it was when I could fly. Though this wasn't flying, it was the closest thing I've had in a long time.
I shook my head and tried to get myself on track. I kept my eyes forward and continued from car to car, getting closer and closer. I saw the cat man running after Bucky, on foot? I cannot keep up with these guys. Sam flew ahead and into the tunnel after Steve and Bucky.
My gaze moved toward a black car that was going faster then all the others. Steve.
I continued to jump, ignoring the pain shooting up through my thigh where my leg should have been.
I was getting tired, so in one more effort I lunged for the car Steve was in. I hit the roof and tapped on the window. What I didn't realize was that the car he was driving had a sun roof. It pulled back and I fell into the back seat.
"How did you catch us?" I hear Steve say. I sit up and meet his gaze in the mirror. His eyes meeting mine for a second, then he went back to driving. Desperate to reach Bucky before the cat man did.
"I jumped." I said, out of breath.
"You what?" He asked, sounding worried.
"Don't worry," I groaned as I adjusted my position. Trying to not show that I was hurt. "I'm fine."I lied. "Ya'll can run, I don't have the super serum running through my veins K?"
He smiled despite our situation, but it was only for a second. "Your not fine, but we'll discuss that later."
I smirked. "We always do." I climbed into the front seat, grunting while doing so from the pain in my thigh.
"Robotic leg?" Steve quickly asked as he made a sharp left to evade from hitting a car.
"Yeah. Not used to walking on it, so jumping cars like Mario is not helping it."
"Who?" I sighed. "The guy with the mustache?"
"Yes, the guy with the mustache." I agreed.
Our conversation was cut short as we soon approached Bucky and the cat man.
"Okay so what's his name? I feel weird calling him 'the cat man'." I told him, rolling down the window while doing so.
"Doesn't matter. The thing that matters is that we get to Bucky before he does." he glanced at me curiously.
"Get closer." I pointed toward the cat man as I gently grabbed the steering wheel and turned it to our right. Steve and I's hands touch for a moment.
I turned to face him, he leaned in and kissed me. It was brief, but sweet and full of passion. "Don't do anything stupid." His eyes met mine.
I smiled. "Always."
I turned back as he was driving ride beside the cat man. He was getting tired, heaving a hard time catching up with Bucky.
Bucky looked back at me and I nodded. He had managed to steal someone's motorcycle. Hoping to out ride the man.
Bucky drove a little closer, and in one swoop I kicked the door with my leg and lunged at the cat man. Going for his legs I tackled him. We rolled and ended up with my arm on his neck, pressing down hard. I had my robotic leg wrapped up with his so he couldn't move it.
He struggled. "Try to beat me again. I dare you." I snarled. Anger pulsing through my veins.
Easy Bailey. I reminded myself. I blinked several times, trying to regain my focus.
