The killing

"TELL ME, I WON'T ASK YOU AGAIN!"

"Tell you what? how I got there, why I was there, why the tree branch didn't hit me?! I've told you! I don't know."

"So you can't tell me how you got there but you can somehow remember every detail of what happened that night?"

"That's correct officer."

"You know that a lot about your little story just doesn't seem to add up? and are you also aware that you're a suspect in what is an undergoing murder investigation?"

"Yes officer I am aware, but you have to believe I am telling the truth! I would never lie."

"That's what a liar would say."

I took a deep breath and swallowed my emotions "Officer Kingsleigh I can assure you everything I've told you is true, and I myself don't understand why I can't remember how I appeared at a bloody murder scene! I just remember going to bed one night having what I thought was this crazy life like dream which turned out to be real and then waking up in my bed."

"I think that's enough for today, I'll get in contact with your mum if I need to do any further questioning." officer Kingsleigh stood up from her chair and showed me to the door.

It had been a few days since the "accident" had happened and ever since then people just don't look at me the same. They're scared of me, my friends and family, the people I love are scared of me. Do you know what that's like? to go from having a normal life where you're family loves you and your friends trust you and would do anything for you to having basically everyone in town look at you like a killer. I couldn't plot a murder, I couldn't even imagine killing anyone, I mean I can't even kill a damn spider! I have to get my brother to do it even then it gives me the creeps.

                                            _____________________________________________

"It's been a few weeks since the killing of young school boy Elijah woods no one knows the sequence of events that led to his death but the police have just released an official statement which can hopefully provide some closure for the friends and family of the deceased, Joanna Moree reports."

"Thanks Max, This morning officer Kingsleigh released a statement about what happened that tragic night on September 20th."

Officer Kingleighs statement "It's a hard time for everyone at the moment especially for the family and friends of Elijah who have to find a way to cope without having answers as to why and how this happened. My job as a police officer is to arrest the bad guys and lock them up for the crimes they've committed, and that's exactly what I'm going to do! I will not rest until the killer is thrown behind bars and locked away for good and hopefully today I can provide you with some answers. All we know as of now is that Elijah was located in the forest and was found dead under a tree branch with multiple cuts to his head, legs, arms, hands and stomach. He suffered from trauma from the falling tree branch, there were also stab wounds on his upper left arm and the right side of his back. This is all the information I can provide you with today, thank you."

"It really is such a sad and horrific story, our thoughts and prayers are with the family."

"Thanks Joanna..." I switched the television off as quick as I could, I felt deeply saddened for the family of Elijah but I felt like I was just being haunted by this entire situation. If I wasn't hearing about it on the television I would hear about it on the radio, if it wasn't the radio I would hear someone talking about it, if I wasn't hearing about it I would get dirty looks from everyone I've ever known and even people I didn't.

It was a Saturday morning, FINALLY! No school, no death stares, no seeing anyone for an entire 48 hours. I could finally just sit in my room, read a book and relax. I tried my hardest to stay sane in this crazy situation, I mean it's not like I was the only suspect in this investigation the police couldn't just pin this entire murder on me. Just as I sat down and flipped the cover of my book open I hear my mum yell my name.

"SARAH, DON'T FORGET WE HAVE TO VISIT YOUR NAN TODAY!"

I just sat on my bed looked up at the ceiling and thought, why?! Can I just have a day or an hour or a singular minute to myself! I rolled off of my comfy bed and slowly started getting ready to leave.
