Everything was blue.
It was long before the crescent shape shifted into the black storm clouds through the thin sheet of glass in her room, filling the minimalist heaven with contrasting cold-hued luminance only compareable to the dead sea. Sheets of clothing, notepads and sweet candy wrappers lay scattered randomly across the floor next to her worn mattress and large cheap faux canvas, as her steady breathing turned into the shallow sobs of yesterday.
Her frail, translucent-green arms hung around his neck, their latte-pink lips connected and held locked in place as his hands held her small waist delicately underneath her colourless sweatshirt, too afraid to tear into her paper skin by accident.
The girl's small frame curled around his broad shoulders and toned stomach, her hands obliged to stroke and play with his messy hair, their liquid eyes closed and lost in the moment of serentiy and sad peace. A chilling breeze blew around them in spirals, twisting and teasing the hair on the back of their necks as the street lamps outside dimmered and lit up, resembling the stars in the blanket of black far above.
"Do you really think we'll be together forever?" A gentle whisper from within the girl, as she pulled away from her lover, filled the room with pure static.
He didn't reply.
She didn't want him to.
