It's the summer of taking chances and not playing by the rules.
Olivia hasn't seen Jason in months. Things didn't exactly end well with them and after 4 months she'd see him again.
Before they agreed to meet up they started talking for a month or so and both agreed to be friends. Now she's meeting up with him. At first she didn't think much of it. She'd meet up with him and they'd watch movies or sit in silence.
Then the day came that she was going to see him and she was so nervous and her stomach was turning all day long. After a long 8 hour work day she was finally done work and made her way to his house.
All she thought about on the way was what was going to happen. All these scenarios going through her head. The closer she got to his the house, the more her stomach turned.
This is it. She took a deep breathe as she entered his house.
He was downstairs playing a video game. Yelling at the tv to shoot someone. She heard his voice and she couldn't seem to catch her breathe. She was shaking with nervousness.
Each step creaked as she stepped on it down to the basement. She entered the room and sat on the sofa.
On the way over she told herself that it was just two friends hanging out, getting to know each other again. Which is what she wanted. She wanted a friendship with him thinking it would be the closure she needed to get over him once and for all.
He turned his game off and joined her on the couch. They exchanged a hello and a how have you been. She sat there, legs crossed, not knowing what to say next. Then he broke the silence and asked if she wanted to watch a movie. She agreed.
He turned on this really weird tv show to see if she would find it as funny as he did. Let's just say he ended up turning it off and putting on a movie.
Throughout the movie he kept getting closer to her. She would move away. "Just friends" she would remind herself. He got closer. She didn't move. He got closer. She was as stiff as a board. He pulled her close so that she was laying on him.
Her heart was beating out of her chest, she thought it would explode. There they stayed, for it seemed like hours. She could hear his heart, that familiar sound she missed.
He took her hand into his. He was staring at their hands and finally said "do you feel that?" She knew exactly what he meant and she whispered "yes". He seemed shocked when he said that and never let go of her hand.
They ended up falling asleep like that. Her laying on his chest and holding only one hand. About an hour later she woke up. She just laid there, feeling the warmth of his body against hers and the pattern of his breathe. She must have did something because he then woke up.
They changed positions. Now he was laying on her. She didn't know what to do. She came there thinking it would be two friends talking and having a fun time. Not that she wasn't having any fun. So she went with the flow and her feelings.
She started tracing his back with just her finger tips, like she used to. Up and down the side of his arms. The sides his body. It was the natural thing for her to do. He shifted. His head was now at her shoulder. She didn't know what was going on, all she knew was she had so much emotion and feeling going through her that she didn't want to stop. So she kept going and he didn't stop her.
10 minutes into staying like that he slightly moved his face towards hers. Closer. Closer. Closer. The next thing she knew his lips were pressed against hers. The whole world disappeared. Here she was, kissing the man she's ever loved. Tongues finding each other. The taste of him that she craved. They kissed longer, harder and more passionate. She realized the feelings she had for him never went away no matter how hard she tried to convince herself.
They continued to kiss. She managed to shed him of his shirt. Revealing that chest she craved and touched. Things progressed. She wanted to feel him. All of him. Having the pleasure of being the only one who had. In that moment, it was like nothing bad happened between them. There was so much electricity and so much of a connection that nothing mattered and she didn't want to leave. But she had to. It was time for her to go since it was 2 am. But she couldn't pry herself off of him and he seemed like didn't want her to.
What were they thinking? How did this happen? What does this mean for them? She was doing so good and now what's going to happen?
She managed to convince him that she needed to go. It was a struggle though. Kissing on the way up the first set of stairs. He pushes her up against the wall and kept kissing her and feeling her. They managed to make it up the second set of stairs to the door. Still kissing and not letting go.
The last thing she wanted to do was leave. She was dreaming of this day for months and it actually happened. She managed to get out of the house. Catching her breathe down the drive way. She smiled.
"What just happened" she thought to herself. She sat at the steering wheel for about 10 minutes. Just going over what happened. Smiling. Running her fingers over her lips. Shocked about everything. All these questions running through her mind.
"Does this mean he still loves me?" "Has he been thinking about me like I have with him" and the last thing she thought "what does this mean?"
And it happened a few more times after that. But the next times were more intense.
