It wasn't normal for people to last longer than two or so years, but somehow a fae managed to beat those odds. Oliver was his name, his capture was the result of trusting the wrong dwarf, after he had met up with him he was knocked unconcious. He had the choice to escape if he gave information about where his race is hiding but he refused, so they threw him in the supposed jail. For the first year he kept his spirits up and tried to be optimistic. But in the second year the abuse started to take a toll on him as he tried to rebel. Soon he became obedient and quiet, silently fuming at the guards. Resenting them for what they did. He's seen everything while there. Murder, abuse and rape are the easyist of the things he's seen, but he's seen it all. He's had it happen to him. He's gotten extremely sick and thin coughing up blood a lot more then should be healthy.
He had to grow up fast to help raise his three younger siblings. Michelle the youngest at only 4, Ryan being 6 and Toby being only three years younger then Oliver. Oliver never had much of a childhood having to hunt and work for the kids, since their laremts died in a mine explosion soon after Michelle's birth, lesvimg them homeless. Oliver made sure to hide his siblings away before leaving on his trade journey. Giving Toby specific instructions to take care of both of them if he's not back in a week. Then he was taken, Toby taking control of the other two after a week and keeping them close. They never saw Oliver again.
