I shouldn't have let my emotions get ahead of me. Now I walk the path of suffering, always ending up on the road of torture. I hate it.... I hate it all..
I hate you most of all, Kazuri Marzota...
"Joey!" A voice calls to me. I turn around to see a white neko fox running up to me, her pale blonde wavy hair flowing freely from a soft breeze. Her hand is extended towards me followed by a happy smile on her face that would soon disappear. "Joey, it's me! Haerica!"
She yelps joyfully. I watch her beautiful light blue eyes connect to my vibrant green ones. I flash her a smile, making her pale cheeks a little red. I raise my own hand in greeting and wave to her.
"Haerica..."
I say under my breath softly. I open up my arms to her, where she leaps into and starts nuzzling my face, her white ears flattened back against her silver pale hair.
"I missed you, Joey-kun!"
She says putting her small chin on my left shoulder. I embrace her for a not-to-tight hug, wrapping my muscular arms around her.
I chuckle softly in her ear.
"Did you freeze again?" I asked worriedly.
She giggled and started squeezing me.
"Only a little, not that much anyways-"
I twitch my ears forward as an explosion comes from our house. A deep red flame bursted through and blasted the windows to shards.
Haerica turns back in horror.
"What the hell?!" She exclaims grabbing my hand.
"Where's Riyou?" I quickly ask.
A piercing scream comes from the building as another blast of flame flowed at the window.
Haerica hissed under her breath sharply, sending out a wisp of white frost breath.
"Does that answer your question?"
She growled pointing at the flaming building. Even from where she was, I watched her cast arms up and flicked her wrists upwards.
"SNOWSTORM BLAST!"
She yelled into the air. Suddenly, ice formed beneath her feet quickly and started to form around her arms and legs. A blue glow emanated from under her as she casted the spell, her hair flying wildly around her face. I watched with awe when her spell collided with the licking flames.
Another scream came, this tine in pain.
"Haerica!"
I say over the noise.
She twitches her ears, indicating that she's listening.
"I'm going to get Riyou, stay here!"
I say running at full speed to the building. I feel her cold eyes trail me, dodging through trees, fallen mossy logs, occasionally grazing animals, and jagged rocks. I see the our house being burned down by the second. I put on more speed. I lower my ears to my head and brace myself. The door is already on the ground burned away and turning into ashes. I go into the doorway to see everything charcoaled and burnt.
"Riyou?" I call, coughing through the smoke. Ugh, I wish I was immortal!
"R-Riyou, where are you?"
I call again sputtering as smoke trails into my lungs.
I dodge out if the way before a large flaming support beam comes crashing down and almost falls on me.
Dammit... Where is she?!
I go upstairs and cover my mouth and nose to block out the smoke and harsh gases.
I cough more, only to suck in more ash and smoke.
"Riyou? Riyou, please come out!"
I say making my way fully up stairs to our rooms. I look into mine and everything is chard.
She'll pay for all of this!
I kick open Riyou's door to be engulfed in hot flames. It burns my clothes and my tail making me wince. I whimper and put out little sparks that could start a fire on me. My green eyes search for her; I walk in, the heat is intense and unbearable. I see a figure standing in an archway of some sort, raising their hands up, fire shooting out of it.
"Riyou?"
"Joey?"
A voice says behind me. I turn around to see a pale skinned neko fox with vibrant red hair, eyes, ears, and fluffed up tail.
Her eyes trail to my burnt shirt, pants, black hands, and my tattered hair. I twitch my ears to her.
"C'mon, we have to get you out of here," I say trying to grab her small arm. She growls and summons a spell on me, making me howl in pain. I look at my hand to see it burned.
Riyou glares at me.
"What the hell do you think you are-"
The window besides us break, snow pours into the flaming room making it sizzle and snap at the flames. The reaction soon flowed out of the room and downstairs leaving a blackened wet smokey smelling room. Riyou shrieks at the snow when it touches her skin. Steam rises off of her.
"GOD DAMN YOU, HAERICA!"
Riyou screams flattening her red fiery ears and leaping out the window.
"Oh God,"
I groan.
I try to get up and stand on my feet. They betray me and I end up buckling back down. I wince again. I think the fire got into my back. I struggle to lift myself and slowly walk back outside. I am tired and hurt and my tail hangs limp from me. My head throbs with pain:
Ba-dump, ba-dump, ba-dump is what my heart is yelling at me in my ears.
"Haerica... R-Riyou." I say weakly. I keep holding my side and feel blood drip down my back onto my past whip marks. It stings and I can't help it.
"S-somebody,"
I say with the last breath that's in my lungs before I collapse to the ground. Darkness envelops my vision and a sudden sense of calm rests over me...
Note: THIS is my first time writing something for you wonderful people(or person, lol)
