Thank you for reading this story. I know that I'm not a good writer. It's probably because I'm 13. So please no hate :)

It was a chilly October afternoon when my parents told me that I would fly to my grandparents' house in Valdez, Alaska. I asked them when 'we' would go... They said it would just be me... I've never flown alone. I've flown with my parents a lot though. They then said I would be gone for 28 days!!! I would miss school just to go to visit my grandparents!
The next day at school I told everyone that I would be gone. My friend Emma confessed that she had a crush on me.... I knew it all ready, EVERYONE knew it already. I told her that I liked her too, she was a hot, popular girl who skipped 5th. She loves math just like I do. She also hates geography, just like me.
That night I took her out on a little date... Or at least what a 14 year old thought was date. We went out to grab a pizza and watch a movie at the small little town theater. Since we were minors it was 50% of on Friday. We found out something new about each other, we LOVED pepperoni pizza. It's our favorite!!! On Saturday I packed my luggage. When I was finished I went to Emma's house. When I got there she immediately pulled me in a hug and said:
"I'm going to miss you so much"
I smiled and said:
"Emma, I'm leaving tomorrow."
He smiled and said:
"I don't care, I will still miss you"
I blushed and went in.We watched the television and ate lunch in my uncle's family restaurant. I was able to get in free and my friends would get 25% off. He took a cheeseburger and I took a bacon burger. It came with fries and a soft drink. When we finished we walked around the frozen lake. The birds were going south, there weren't that many left but... They were still majestic flying in a flock. It was about 4:30 PM so we headed back to my place. In our little town, everything is close together; it's a one hour walk to go around the town.
I had to wake up at five in the morning to go to the airport. When we got there I said goodbye to my mom, dad and little brother, John. I went through security; the flight attendant walked me to the gate. About an hour later we boarded the plane, I had a first class window seat for the first flight, it was great; the service, the food and especially: the view.
Two hours later we landed in Washington State. I then took a plane to anchorage international. Three hours later we landed. I then took a propeller plane to Valdez. The plane could only hold about eight people. We were served will little cookies and orange juice. When I landed I was greeted by my grandma. It was about a fifteen minute drive to her house. We drove up and I was greeted by my grandpa who pulled me into a hug. I squeezed hard and he said:
"You've grown so much since the last time we saw you!"
I smiled and went to grab my bags. I only had my backpack and small suitcase. I was tired because it was about 9:30 PM. I got into my nicely prepared bed when I got a phone call:
"Hello?"
I said confused, we were using FaceTime so I saw her face. It was Emma.
"Hay Rick! How was the flight?"
She asked in excitement, I sighed and said:
"It was good; I got some nice photos of the mountains."I loved photography, it was a little trait that I got from my dad, he was a great photographer, and he gave me his old camera so I could take photos over here. We finished talking and I went to sleep, at about midnight I noticed that my window was opened a little. I got up to close it; I did that and saw a figure standing under the light post. He waved to me and walked away. I was officially creeped out. I got back in bed and went back to sleep...
Thank you so much for reading, it is only 700 words but I assure you that in the next chapter there will be more then 1000 words :)
