"Trust me, he's hotter than any guy you've seen," I recalled to my friend Charlie. She was the person I always talked to about hot guys at school. Since we were both single at the time, it just fit perfectly.

"Pictures?" She asked excitedly. I didn't have any, but we all know how easy it is to find them on social media. Facebook always has some embarrassing ones.

I quickly typed his name into the search bar, "Mackenzie Murphy." But nothing with his face came up. No one that went to the same university as me. "He might go by Mack." I try that, and success! There he was, shirtless on a beach. Typical. But holy shit this guy is something out of a dream.

"This is your new friend?" She asks completely in shock. Yeah, this guy was my friend. We met first semester but I didn't know how to start a conversation so we didn't start talking until second semester. And now two weeks in, we started to get close. "Date him."

"Hahahahaha," I laughed at her, at the idea that someone like him would go for someone like me. I was always known as the awkward guy. I wasn't popular. So yeah, the chances of him liking me are not good. "He's straight, I'm pretty sure." She looked through his pictures, and his profile, and then she turned to me.

"You sure?" She said as she shows me his likes. "What's this?" She pointed at one. It read as a proud to be LGBT page.

"Holy shit!" I responded back to her when I realize. "No way he'd go for me though."

"You never know," she comforts me, "plus, you've made straight guys wish they were gay so they could be with you." She's right. One of my straight friends used to tell me he wished he was gay so we could date. He just knew I'd treat him right. It was sweet, but so frustrating at the time.

"Mission: Make Mack fall in love," I said with a laugh.

"No, actually," she replied seriously. "You're friends, and you could totally make him fall in love." She's always been more optimistic when it comes to my love life than me. "Let me know."

The next day when I walked into class Mack waved me over to him. I walked over and sat beside him. "We're going out after class today," he said with his cute smile.

"I have class until 2:45," I told him without giving him confirmation on going with him.

"Same!" He told me with excitement. "Meet me out front McCain."

"Alright," I replied with a smile. He was smiling so big I couldn't help but return it. He was almost giddy about the whole thing.

"You guys going on a date?" One of his male friends asked us.

"Yup," he replied easily, and seriously.

"Wait..." I started but he cut me off.

"I asked you on a date, idiot," he said interrupting me with a smile.

"We're going on a date," I restated smiling.

The day flew by. All I could think about was where he would take me. I was excited. I never thought this was possible. Oh! I should text Charlie and tell her. After my last class I wait outside the McCain building. I see him pull up in a Hyundai... oh, this isn't going to work out. I only drive Honda's. And Hyundai's are one of the worst. He got out to open the door for me, a true gentleman. We seemed to drive forever.

"Since it's the middle of the day, and all of the things I thought we could do are at different times, I have no idea where I'm driving to," he informed me. "Any ideas."

"Let's go downtown," I said without even thinking of how cold it was. "The waterfront is always a good backup plan."

"Done," he said as he turned the car onto a road that lead us down to the waterfront.
