Helena Wierzbicki, "Hurting".
. . .
Hurtful words thrown at a worthless girl,
aggressive tones used towards a regressing girl.
His vocabulary is full of vulgar slurs,
words which will make your stomach churn.
He shows no empathy at who he degrades,
because it is not hurting him the way it hurts me.
After time creeps by,
he decides to show remorse,
but if there is no forgiveness left to stake,
his spiteful actions and voice awakens.
The one person that is there to witness,
does not take any action to control,
and allows the burning of his contempt settle in.
My sense of love has run out,
because these hurtful words and aggressive tones have made me numb,
and I once was able to sweep it away in a hidden closet,
but that once has ran out of vitality.
This formerly strong mind,
has now been devoured by a ruthless critter,
waiting down the hallway,
in the dark shadows planning his next raid.
