Pablo Picasso, "Girl before a Mirror".
. . .
Happy is what they see,
a world full of people with faces that fool,
which makes anyone a stranger to me,
and the deceptive features I have chosen for today.
Joyous greetings from the outside world,
but a bleak neglect from the inside world.
The feeling of switching these deceptive features is tiresome and depressing,
however I can not let my front be detected by a stranger who is puzzled,
they will think that I am diseased with defective feelings,
and want to help someone that feels the need to be isolated.
The next morning,
I will walk up to my vanity,
and look at my choices for the outside world,
knowing to be careful on picking these numerous deceptive features,
so no stranger will detect this front.
Hidden feelings that I do not want to display,
scared to see the reactions from this world full of people,
but no one knows that I secretly tricked them,
so this secret is safe with myself and no one else,
and these days will continue their pace,
until fatality detects this front.
