Mark's POV
With everything possible running through Mark's head, from why the hell couldn't Jack tell him with other people around..and why the hell he was so excited. Mark scrambled for the keys in his pocket and shuffled down the street to his car. He could feel the pounding of his heart, beating its pulse against his rib cage. The hairs on the back of his neck standing on end, and the tips of his ears running with heat from any slight thought of earlier today in the hall.
It was now the early hours of the evening, the stars above Mark's head let off a slight simmering glow on his windshield as he drove back to his house. It was getting cooler this time of year, and Mark shivered as he reached over to turn the heater on, hoping that the blow of soothing heat would calm his nerves. Why was he so nervous? It was just Jack...
or...was it?
A few minutes later the youtuber pulled up in his driveway and shut off his car. He took a deep breath, soaking the cool air into his lungs..making his chest ache a bit before he opened the door and stepped out. Jack was waiting for him by the front door. How did he get here so fast? He was walking wasn't he?
"Jack...how did you-" Mark started as he approached the other man.
"Never mind that, I'll tell you everything you want ta know once we're inside."
Mark watched him closely, scanning his eyes over his Irish friend. He didn't know what this feeling was...but somehow Mark felt as if he was in danger. Cautiously, Mark once again took his keys from his pocket and unlocked his door, stepping inside, and then turning to Jack with the door wide open.
"You coming..?" He said, standing in the doorway.
Jack sighed and adverted his eyes for a moment.
"You have to invite me in.." He said softly, his Irish accent coating his words.
"Invite you? Jack, just walk through the door." Mark said, becoming confused.
"Dammit Mark just invite me in!" Jack snapped with a bit of a growl.
Mark flinched slightly, confused and a bit shocked at his aggressiveness..
What was that all about? Blinking his thoughts away, he gestured for Jack to come in.
"Okay then....Jack, please come in."
"Thank you.." He said, as he stepped forward and into Mark's house, Mark then closing the door behind him.
Mark took off his coat and hung it by the door. Slipping off his shoes, he noticed Jack was doing the same...hanging his coat by Mark's and then sliding off his shoes on the rug next to his. Mark observed him for a moment. Grazing his eyes over the man's pale skin...that seemed to be almost glowing in the dimly lit room. The moonlight from the window was frosting his cool skin with a faint blueish glow..the dark clothing he was wearing only made it stand out more, and the young man's green hair was shining brightly, as it cast over his face. In a sense, Jack was beautiful..almost flawless, and Mark felt an undying urge in the pit of his stomach to be near him...but he quickly moved into the living room and sat down on the couch, watching as Jack followed and sat in the seat opposite of him.
"So...mind telling me what the heck is going on?" Mark started, the bleak silence was staring to bother him.
"It's a long story..." Jack said, "But I'll spare you the crap...before anthin' else...you have to promise me you won't say a word of this to anyone else."
"I-I won't." Mark stuttered, sitting up in his seat, watching the other man closely.
"Mark I'm serious...what I'm about to tell you could get me in serious trouble...or worse.."
"Alright alright..my lips are sealed." He said, moving his hand in a zipper like motion over his lips.
Jack sighed and paused for a moment, looking down at his feet. Mark was assuming that he was trying to think of a way to start the conversation.
After a moment...he spoke up, his eyes still locked on his feet, that were softly fidgeting as he spoke.
"There's no easy way fer me to put this...but to sum it up...I-" He hesitated, his voice sounding a bit deeper before continued. "I got myself involved with someone who I thought I could trust...and turns out this guy was more than I thought he was...he broke his promise with me, and I got angry...and in his plot of revenge towards me...he-....he uh..."
"He what...?" Mark asked, thoroughly interested.
"He...ugh...he turned me into a monster..." Jack sputtered out.
"What?" Mark asked with his eyebrows raised. "A monster? Jack...is this some kind of a joke? What do you mean a monster?"
"Well..." Jack's deep voice startled the other man, and Mark noticed he had begun to breath a little heavier, heart pounding, blood rushing, sweat forming on his forehead..even though it was chilly.
Mark watched with widened eyes as Jack slowly lifted his head. The penetrating solid black eyes he had seen earlier were back...making that pulsing in Mark's chest beat harder...
"It would be easier for me to show you..." Jack's Irish voice rumbled with a growl, as he stood up from his chair and stepped towards the American.
"W-Wait..what are-...Jack please.."
"You sound afraid..." He said, as he slid his way into his friend's grip, slithering up in his lap. "Are you afraid..?"
"I-I.." Mark struggled to even talk. He leaned back against the couch cushion, letting Jack climb up in his lap and wrap his legs around him.
"Let me show you what I am..."
Mark could do nothing but sit there and watch. Lower lip quivering, chest heaving, back arching into the couch..as if he could do anything to get away. Although he was a bit scared...he knew in the back of his head that this was still his friend Jack..he's known him for years...and Jack would never do anything to hurt him. But...at the same time, Mark was enthralled. He was a bit excited that Jack was this close to him...let alone in his lap.
But what Jack did next...made Mark catch his breath in his throat..and almost choke on it..
Jack opened his mouth, a low grunt like hiss threading off his lips as he leaned closer to Mark's face. Mark watched in awe as two blade like fangs slipped their way out of his upper gums.
"Y-You're..." Mark quivered, never taking his eyes off those fangs.
"A vampire Mark..." He said softly, finally closing his mouth, putting the sharp weapons away.
"I-I mean...I don't-...vampires don't exist..!" Was the only thing Mark could get out.
"Oh, then what's sittin' in yer lap then?" Jack rolled his eyes.
"I'm sorry...this is a lot to take in.." Mark sighed, not really knowing what to say.
But before Mark could say anything else...
Jack had those fangs out again..
"Mmmm..." He groaned, leaning in closer to Mark's neck, soaking in a deep breath, as his hands gripped the couch cushion behind Mark's head.
"Jack-...what are you doing..?!" Mark whimpered, feeling Jack's icy solid chest press up against his own.
"You smell so fucking good..."
"Mnh?!" Mark grunted, his cheeks heating up in a deep blush. "Jack wai-.."
But it was too late to stop now...~
