Mark's POV
A cold sweat dripped down his forehead..still reminiscing in the exasperating feeling of Jack's icy cold touch. Jack had almost bitten him...almost sank his teeth deeply into Mark's neck...part of him was glad that he didn't, he could have drank him dry. The other part was disappointed that Jack had left without doing it..leaving him to deal with the tension in the air.
Mark got up and walked over to the window that Jack had jumped out of..he peered onto the roof, making sure the vampire wasn't actually still there. Mark hoped that the green haired vamp would be waiting out on the roof for him...but of course, he wasn't. Mark debated if he should go after him...he was curious...and had a strange urge to be near the Irishman, his absence was making Mark uncomfortable...a feeling that he didn't exactly know how to describe. After a moment of compiling with himself...he decided, even though it was probably a really bad idea, that he was going to go out and search for him.
Mark walked over to his dresser and dressed himself in the warmest attire he could find, after sliding on his coat, he quietly left his room and made his way downstairs. If he was lucky, Tyler and Ethan would have left already..or they'd be asleep somewhere in his home. Fortunately, he was right, Ethan was knocked out on the couch, and Mark guessed that Tyler had either left, or found somewhere else to sleep. He tiptoed to the front door, and slipped on his shoes..clenching his teeth together as the door made a creaking noise in his attempt to open it. He slipped outside, releasing the breath he had held in as the door 'clicked' closed.
"Phew.." Mark sighed, turning around, scanning his eyes over the street.
He didn't even know where to begin..its only been a few minutes, but Jack could be anywhere by now..if what he knew about vampires was true, is that they were fast. Mark tucked his hands in his pockets and wandered down the street, debating whether he should just turn back and forget about the whole thing like Jack had asked him too..
But how could he possibly forget? One of his closest friends is a vampire...who also came into his bedroom and kissed him...and then...also almost bit his neck....
Mark's lips were still tingling...he took one hand out of the warmth of his pocket to trace a finger over his lips...he could still taste Jack..the sweet savory flavor..
"Mmm.." Mark opened his eyes, he hadn't noticed that he had stopped walking, and was just standing in the middle of nowhere, touching his mouth.
"Ugh God I'm such an idiot.." He sighed, realizing that this late night expedition was completely pointless. It was getting late, and the longer he stayed out, the colder the air seemed to get.
Mark turned around once more, retracing his steps, sulkily walking back to his house. He couldn't understand this burning feeling that was arising in his gut..he didn't know if he was just tired, or if the cold air he was breathing in was just getting to him. But as he shuffled back to his house, Mark's thoughts drifted..reliving the moments from earlier that evening. His cheeks heated up in the slightest shade of pink..
"Why am I even thinking about-" Mark looked up. "Hnm?" He thought he might be hearing things..but he knew by now what Jack's growl sounded like.
"Jack..?" Mark quickly scanned is eyes around the scene in front of him...just an empty street, the houses had gone dark and quiet..the only thing he could really see was the outline of a few objects in the darkness.
He listened, but heard nothing.
"Now I'm definitely going crazy.." Mark rolled his eyes at himself and continued towards his home. "Vampires and fantasy are real apparently.." He said with slight annoyance.
Upon reaching his driveway, he heard the noise again.
A deep low growl that rumbled his ear drums..
"J-Jack...if that's you, stop messing around. It's not fair that you can see in the dark and I can't."
The growling stopped, and Mark looked around for his friend..assuming that he was just teasing him once more. He looked behind him, and could make just out a dark figure in the distance, standing on the other side of the street. Mark waited for the figure to move, wondering why Jack was acting so strange..
"You don't have to be so distant you know.." Mark said to the dark entity. "I'm not going to treat you any differently now just because I know your secret.."
The figure remained silent.
"Jack.." Mark pleaded, "Stop acting so weird...we're still friends aren't we?"
Since the figure was giving him no response, Mark shrugged and made one last attempt to comfort his friend.
"Well, I don't want you to stay out in the cold...so, if you feel up for it, you can come back in- MNFH?!"
Mark about jumped out of his own skin when a hand suddenly appeared over his mouth, silencing his words. Panting slightly, he cautiously looked down at the hand...then followed its arm, to the figure standing next to him.
Wait a minute...
"MnJ-Jammck?" If Jack is next to him, then who the hell-
Mark's eyes shot up, back across the street.
The figure was still there...
Mark heard the growling again, but this time he could see Jack snarling..his fangs out..stepping in front of him and lowering his body in a protective stance..
Jack hissed...and the dark figure turned and walked away, disappearing into the shadows.
The two were quiet for a moment..Mark calming his nerves, trying to wrap his mind around what just happened. If that wasn't Jack he was talking too, then who the hell was it? And where did Jack come from?! There was no way he could have just known he-
"Do you realize what danger you could have been in?!" Jack finally had turned around to face the American, his fangs still out...but his eyes were their normal shade of blue.
"W-What do you mean?!" Mark protested, "I thought that was you!"
"Well lucky fer you I was still around.." Jack sighed, "You almost invited another vampire into yer house."
Oh shit...so that's why Jack had stopped him from finishing his sentence.
"I-I didn't know.." Mark trembled, half because he was still startled..and half because he was freezing.
Jack sighed and looked at his friend, Mark couldn't exactly read is expression..
"I'm sorry bout' earlier.." Jack said, shifting his eyes downward.."Just get back inside..I'll meet you at yer bedroom window."
"A-Alright.." Mark nodded and did as he was told.
The youtuber hurried back inside, kicked off his shoes and basically ran up the stairs. Once he was in his room, he made sure to close the door behind him, and turned to see Jack standing outside his window.
Mark's heart did a flip in his chest..and that burning feeling was back..
He walked over to his window and opened it, reaching his hand out to his undead friend.
"Come on in Jack.."
The vampire flashed his sharp smile..
"There is a lot we need to talk about.."
