Yay part three! I'm really thinking about not being so nice about these uploads now. Comment and vote or else my motivation will just dive bomb.
"Don't tell me...they didn't come back?" Everyone nodded. "Well we should go get them. We can't just leave them out there!" I screamed, getting hysterical.
"Skylar, calm down!" Dan yelled and shook me.
"We can't do anything right now. It's dark outside and we would have no chance of finding anything but those disgusting creatures," said Kelevra with his arms crossed. "However, we do need our supplies eventually. We will wait it out tonight and make our way toward the mall tomorrow, but only to get what we need. If we run into them on the way or during the collection then we can regroup. But we will not be going around the whole town searching for people who may have already fallen prey to these undead."
"What do you mean, Kelevra? We have to look for them," Luna exclaimed. "They might be alive!"
"No, Luna," I said. "Kelevra is right." Great, I could feel them staring. I sighed. "I was thinking about it earlier when I read some messages from my family. Anyone who we don't know is alive, for sure, must be considered dead or undead. We can't get our hopes up of reuniting with loved ones because the chances of that are lower than our own chances of surviving."
"You're right," Angel agreed.
There was a loud banging on the door that caused us all to jump a bit. I looked at the metal doors shaking in place. Then there was screaming. A female.
"Open the door!" the voice cried.
I watched Zach get up and shove the door open. The girl fell in.
"Sarah?" I asked, surprised that she wasn't one of those flesh eaters by now. But she wasn't unharmed. Her hair was a mess, she had cuts and bruises all over her, and her clothes were caked with dirt and blood. It looked like some brain juice too.
"Get her out of here!" screamed Kelevra. "Look at all those injuries! She'll probably change any second!"
"I didn't get any blood in my cuts, jackass!" Sarah yelled back.
"How do we know you didn't get bit?" Zach asked.
"Well I didn't!" she retorted.
"How can we believe you though," Zach questioned, getting a big grin over his face. "I think we should check."
"Slow down there, turbo," Luna barked. "Skylar and I will check it out. No need to be perverts about it."
"Seriously," I rolled my eyes.
Luna and I walked over to her as Zach moved the tables in front of the doors. We carried her into the back room. Luna kept an eye on her as she stripped down while I went a filled a small bucket with water and grabbed some rags. I poked my head out of the door.
"Someone go upstairs and grab a first aid kit from the nurses office please," I said before closing the door. I walked over to Luna and Sarah.
"These scrapes don't look like they came from being attacked. And there's no bite marks or missing chunks," reported Luna.
"I got most of these injuries from running away," Sarah muttered.
"Most?" I questioned. I handed her a rag and let her clean herself off.
"The fat kid tried to knock me out to use me as zombie bait when we got surrounded," she said as she pointed to a bruise on her cheek.
"Coward," Luna said.
"Well, he died anyway."
"I'm guessing everyone else did too," I said without looking at her. Her silence was enough to answer my question.
