Hermione

Chapter one.

A loud, piercing scream filled the room as Hermione squirmed on the floor. The Cruciatus Curse was lifted for a moment, allowing Hermione to take a shaky breath. Tears streamed down her eyes as she cried out once more. It felt like each muscle in her body were being pulled apart.

''You worthless Mudblood,'' Bellatrix hissed out, her eyes narrowed and filled with hate as Hermione sobbed on the floor. The older lady's eyes were wide and filled with malice. She crouched herself down to the whimpering girl on the floor, grabbing out a small, silver knife.

''No, no, stop!'' Hermione cried out, her whole body shaking with the after effects of the curse and fear. Before Hermione could say anymore, the knife was piercing her skin, and she let out an earsplitting scream. ''Stop,'' she cried, loudly, trying to grip her arm away.

Bellatrix let out a growl, moving her body atop of Hermione's in order to keep her still. Her knife continued to pierce Hermione's delicate skin, and soon her body became numb. The pain was too much for her to bear. Tears streamed down the sides of her face as she stared off into the distance, unable to take anymore.

Her eyes drifted off to the side, brown met grey and she could see the pain he held also. Draco immediately looked away from her, shifting on his feet. It seemed like he was uncomfortable. Hermione's eyes started to close as she felt the weight of Bellatrix get off her.

''Aw, are you tired?'' the older woman teased, her wand clenched in her hand. ''Crucio!''

The feeling in Hermione's body started to come back as her scream once again filled the quiet room. Her arm was burning, but then again, so was every inch of her. ''Stop!" She cried out through the pain, and the lady only left it on her longer. Damn that woman.

''That is enough, Bella,'' his hiss filled the room, and her entire being tensed up. Bellatrix bowed her head slightly, ''yes, my Lord.''

Hermione lay with her limbs twisted into each other, and she was very damn glad she wasn't facing him. She didn't think she could stand to see his horrid snake-like face.

''Stand.'' His voice was calm, but she could hear the danger disguised in his voice. Hermione couldn't move one bit, so she continued lying as she was.

''I said stand!'' he roared out, losing his patience. His red eyes remained on her seemingly lifeless body, ''get her up, Bella.'' He said lowly, watching as the woman scrambled to get Hermione up.

A moan of discomfort passed her lips as her body swayed, trying to get back to the ground. Her bones and muscles screamed to be left alone as Bellatrix moved her to where Voldemort was. ''Look at me,'' he hissed out.

Hermione did nothing but refuse, and she only lifted her eyes to meet Malfoys. She had never seen him the way he was, but then again, he had never seen her like she was at that moment. They were both very vulnerable. Bellatrix grabbed the sides of Hermione's face, moving her head so fast that she felt a crick in her neck. She came face to his robes, and she felt disgust run through her body.

His hand found the bottom of her chin, lifting it to his face. Everything she ever heard about him was true. He was hideous. A snake's nose in place of where a regular nose was meant to be. A shiver ran down her spine as his red eyes met hers.

A sign of recognition flashed in his cold eyes, and his face became even more irate.

''Leave us,'' he said, eyeing everyone that seemed to be in the room. As everyone piled out, Bellatrix was the only one who stayed behind.

''But, my Lord-''

''Did you not hear me clearly? Leave.'' He demanded, the harshness of his voice cutting through Hermione.

She finally became acutely aware of the liquid that seemed to be dropping down from her arm, and she could only guess it was blood. She hadn't actually looked at what Bellatrix had done to her, but she could only guess it was something that was going to scar.

''Hermione,'' his voice rang through the room, and every single piece of her froze completely. His eyes traveled her body with a hungry look, and she felt a shiver run down her spine. ''Yes,'' he hissed out, ''I remember you like this, so young, so scared.'' A dark laugh passed his lips, and she felt like she was going to faint.

She took a small step away from him, only for his hand to wrap itself around the small of her back. No. She thought to herself, panicking. Leave me alone. His entire being seemed to be moving closer to hers, and she shifted back each time he moved forward.

His hand gripped her back tightly, and she let out a whimper of pain. A satisfied grin grew on his face as he grew closer to her. Too close for comfort. Her heart was beating erratically in her chest as she tried to move away from him.

Not a moment later, his cold, nonexistent lips crashed against hers, and she let out a small cry.

She could hear Ron yelling from below. ''What are you doing to her?''

Oh, how she wished to be in his arms rather than this thing.

As he finally seemed to move away from her, Hermione could only stare at him with horror. ''Ah, yes, and I remember that too.''

His eyes drifted towards her body once more, lingering on where Bellatrix had carved something in her arm. Her eyes drifted down also, and her heart stopped. Down in big letters was a word: 'M U D B L O O D.' She guessed that she would now always be reminded of what she was.

Her eyes were stuck on her bleeding arm, and she refused to move her gaze.

Voldemort pulled out his wand, and she felt her heart stop. She guessed this was the end of her. He pointed his want directly between her eyes, ''mutare praeterita.'' What the hell did that mean? She racked her brain for the Latin phrase, but found nothing. Was that a spell?

Soon, her thoughts were confirmed that it was not the spell when he finally did the wand movements he needed. Right before his eyes, the girl seemed to dissipate into thin air.

Hermione felt herself being pulled and tossed around, and soon her body fell with a thump onto tall blades of grass. Rain was falling all around her, and she was immediately soaked.

A groan passed her lips as she held her arms close to her, looking around.

Where was she? Her thoughts were answered when she saw the castle in the distance. Did he just take her back to Hogwarts?

She got herself up from the dirty ground, mud plastered all over her body, including her arm. Her blood seemed to mix with the mud. A bitter laugh passed her lips as a thought crossed her mind. This was what Mudblood looked like.

Hermione shook her head, wrapping her arms around herself as she made her way towards the castle. The Muggle clothing that she was wearing was completely dirty, and she hoped Ginny or someone from her year would lend her clothes. That is, if they actually went to their seventh year.

As she made her way to the doors, they seemed to open upon her presence. That was odd. She made her way through the doors, eyebrows furrowed. Things seemed quite a bit different, Snape was headmaster after all, and so he must've changed up things majorly.

She took in a small breath, walking down the hall, hoping to go unnoticed. "Excuse me, miss.'' Hermione cursed to herself, turning around. In front of her was a man; it was Dumbledore. But he was dead. Her heart seemed to stop as she stood in place.

The look on his face was something that she wasn't used to. His eyes weren't sparkling as they usually did. Actually, it seemed like he didn't even know her. "When am I?" She asked, her breathing shortening. "It is April, of course." It wasn't April when she was here-- it was barely March. "I meant the year," she said softly. Something seemed to flicker in his eyes as he looked over her.

"1944, of course.''

[a.n. mutare praeterita means ''change the past.'' I looked on google translate, and that's what it gave me. I mean, who speaks Latin anyway? but if you do, that's pretty awesome and you should talk to me! especially if you know Italian! or any other language! I would love to get to know you guys. Anyway, welcome to Timeless 2.0. I hope you enjoyed it!]
