"Doctor, what's wrong? Why doesn't
he remember anything after his 16th
birthday? Will he be fine?"
I asked him with hopeful eyes.
"Whatever I'll come to know will be
after I do the scan."
Saying this he left.
When I went outside, Pauline's parents
rushed to her room. I guess she
regained consciousness too.
I sat on the previous booth and called
up George. Just after the first ring he
answered, I could sense the worry in
his voice.
"Hello. Mel, how is he?"
That's weird. He asking about him
"He is awake now. But-"
"But?"
"He doesn't remember you?"
"Well good news there, isn't it?"
"George. Please. He doesn't remember
anything after the 16th birthday."
I say massaging my temples.
"Oh. What did the doctors say?"
"They have ordered him to run through
a scan."
"What about the girl?"
"I guess she woke up too. Her parents
are in her room."
I say looking at the room from where
the nurses and doctor were running
through. Was she fine?
"Do I need to be there?"
"No. It'll be fine." I don't want him to
be here and leave Mark alone
"Is Mark asleep?" I ask.
"Yeah. He had woke up and asked
about you. I told him where you are."
"Okay. I'll call you later. Bye, love."
"Bye babe."
I sighed and placed my head on the
wall.
I just hope my baby brothers fine. I
really want him to be. And even her.
Pauline's parents came out with a
worried look. Should I ask them?
Anyway I got up and went up to them.
"How is she?" I asked, hoping for a
normal reply.
"She doesn't remember anything after
her 16th birthday." And her mother
began to cry.
"Oh Dear God. Her too."
Pauline's dad looked up at me.
"Even Wayne. He has been put through
a scan."
"She'll go soon." He said then they
went and sat down
