THE FORGOTTEN LOVE
episode 8

After what felt like two hours the
doctor with Wayne- i really need to
know his name- came to me.
I quickly glanced at his nameplate.
Robert Torres.
Then i looked at him
"Please follow me." I followed him to
his cabinet. It was...white. Like the
rest of the hospital. His nameplate
was placed on the table with a laptop
and a photo frame which will be of his
family I guess.
"Mrs..."
"Gilbert. You can call me Melissa."
I said with a reassuring smile.
"Yes. Mrs. Melissa, I'm afraid that your
brother suffers from retrograde
amnesia."
Okay. I really didnt understand what
did he say. I cocked my eyebrow. He
smiled
"There are lobes in the brain.
Unfortunately your brother faced
damage in the temporal and prefrontal
lobes causing his new memory to
erase. He remembers long term
memory. Like up to his 16th birthday.
But after that all the memory has been
erased. So he doesn't remember."
Okay that is really hard to process. So
"Will he remember any of it again?"
"Well that depends. He can recover
within weeks,within months,years or
maybe he will never recover."
His last choice of words startled me.
What if he nevers recover.
I should ask about Pauline
"Doctor. His wife doesn't remember
anything from her 16th birthday."
"Well,maybe even she suffers this.
Because from the position of wounds
the angle of the crash was pretty much
fatal. They both are alive that is a
miracle."
Saying this he started penning down
something.
"Doctor when will I be able to take him
home."
"Tomorrow. We need to keep him
under observation. For tonight. Oh and
one more thing "
God what now.
"Don't make him remember anything. I
mean don't force him. By time he will
ask questions or he might get flashes
of his past. At least for a month keep
him away from any kind of pressure. "
"Okay. Thank you doctor."
Saying this I left his cabinet.
Straight ahead I saw Pauline going to
the scan room. She went past beside
me. She was awake. She looked at me.
And the stare didn't fade until she was
behind those doors.
Poor girl. Her skin was now marked
with bruises and her hair seemed short
too.
