§ Ocean's POV §I went to my locker and took my books for the next lessons after lunch.
When I looked up, I saw Allan, or Al, as I call him.
"A--- Al!" I called him. He looked over at me and smiled. "Hey Ocean."
I gave him an awkward wave. I walked over to him and looked at what he was reading.
"Oh, that isn't popular anymore." I told him.
"Exactly. It's a good thing the fad it had last year ended, 'cause I didn't want any spoilers."
I blushed. "Mhm. People tend to post stuff they read or see on the Internet."
He nodded and flicked the book close. Why We Broke Up. I mentally noted it on my mind. I'm going to buy that.
I have a lot of things to say if ever someone asks me why I like Allan. I mentioned before, but he's honestly the epitome of cool.
But, that's only when he's not around me. When I discovered his hobby of reading books, he and I got along well, after a long list of circumstances and disagreements. Ever since then, my feelings started to grow.
"Um, Al, are you going to class?" I asked.
He smiled and nodded. "Yeah, want to come with me?"
"Yes! It's a good thing we're on the same class." I had a stupid smile on my face. Blame happiness. Blame love.
"Okay. Come."
We were walking when someone turned around and blocked our way.
"Oh, Chris, hey." Al greeted.
Chris gave Al an overprotective look. "Why are you with Ocean?"
Al smirked. "Any problem?"
"Ocean is my best friend, of course I care for her." He rolled his eyes.
Al combed back his light blonde hair and looked Chris in the eyes.
"Well, we're only going to class. Want to come with?"
No Chris! No! I thought, staring at him intently, hoping that he'd somehow notice.
Chris set his eyes on me. With a sigh, he replied. "Psh, no. Enjoy your time, lovebirds."
I controlled my sigh of relief. That would be rude.
When we walked past him, I looked at him and winked with a thumbs up. Thank you!
He smiled and laughed, then headed away to wherever.
-------x
After class, I went to the hidden three where me and Chris usually meet.
"Chriiiiis!!" I called.
He looks down from the three and smiled.
"Come up." He told me.
I smiled cheekily and went up using the rock ladder Chris made for me when we were in sixth grade.
"How'd it go with Allan?" He asked.
"Um, not much. We just walked to class, which you didn't attend for, who knows, the fifth time?" I told him angrily.
He chuckled. "Sorry. I just didn't feel like it. Besides, I'm still a top notcher."
I crossed my arms. "Still, Chris, that isn't a good enough reason to abandon your best friend at Mathematics. I totally suck there."
He draped his arm around my shoulders. "You can do it, Osha."
