Summer Isn't Over

Getting out of bed i told myself it would be different. i wouldn't stay inside i wouldn't be selfish. i would get ready i would go to Taylor's i would live life. 2 weeks until school. Kayla's case went cold, after the funeral.

i got out of bed and went down the hall to the bathroom my hair was so gross i needed to shower. i turned on the water i let it heat up as i walked back to my room i checked my phone Cameron's named popped up more than once or twice as i scrolled through my notifications. I'm sure he's heard it was on the local and international news. he deserved an answer. I just wasn't ready then maybe i am now.

I got in the shower, i let the water hit my back it reminded me of the rain drops i would not cry not anymore. I was done crying.

I walked back to my room and walked in to my closet and grabbed my favorite crop top, and black high waisted shorts and threw them on. I quickly blow dried my hair and let my wavy brown hair fall down my back. i grabbed my vans and threw them on. threw my phone in my pruse and ran down stairs and put a smile on.

i walked into the kitchen, Mara was making pancakes and my parents sat at the table reading the news paper. Typical. "Morning" i said in the happiest voice i could make.

My parents put their papers so fast. "miss Mia" Mara said happily "feeling better?' she continued.

"Yea i feel good now that my hair isn't greasy anymore" i say taking a seat next to my mom grabbing a piece of toast from the table.

"Mara will you go upstairs and grabbed Mia's dirty sheets and clean them." she quickly shuffled away and p the stares. my parents had away of being intimidating two lawyers can be pretty scary.

i couldn't help but laugh. the laugh came out louder than i hopped. " whats so funny miss i haven't gotten out of bed in like 2 months?' my dad said with a bright smile.

"Nothing I say just missed laughing and it has not been two mouths more like a week " i say biting my toast i threw the rest on my plate and got up.

"where are you going?" my mom asked me worried.

"To Tays!' i say i walked to the front of the house and grab my keys from the hook.

I walked out the house and ran down the steps towards the my car. I threw my purse into the seat next to me and slowly dived down the street Tay lived a few blocks away. i finally reached her House i stopped right by her mail box and turned my car off. I grabbed my purse and looped my key ring around my finger.

I walked up the brick walk way and up to their door, i sat there for a second its been forever since i had rang their door bell. me and tay were so close we never had to.

i pressed the doorbell and waited. after a few seconds Jessica their maid opened their door. "Miss Mia where have you been?" she said letting me in. "just laying low, is Taylor in?" i asked looking around the hallway like its the first time i had ever been in their home. " shes upstairs in her room' she didn't have to say more i walked past a few rooms and up the stairs.

"Mia' i heard a voice say. i turned around slowly giving me time to put a smile on my face "James! how are you?" not the best question to ask a boy who had just lost his twin sister.

"better" he said

"i'm sorry i couldn't have asked that" i said stepping down a step to be closer to him

"No we all have to face it Kayla's dead and we can't change that we can't mope around all the time." he said stepping up to me "so where have you been lately i haven's seen you in like a week?"

'I've just been staying at home trying to give everyone time to recover, so before i go and see tay how is she how should i prepare?" i asked worried

"Actually" he said "shes taking it the best out of all of us you should be fine."

i walked down so there was one step between us i hugged him and whispered "I'm sorry" he whispered back " i am too" we stayed there for a second and i let go and turned away and walked to Taylor's room.
