As a child, I was never allowed to play with the other girls at school. My parents always sent me to the best lessons, got me the best tutors money could buy and trained me to fight as soon as I turned 8.
I was not your normal girl, if you couldn't already tell; I wasn't even human for gods sake. I was a pure she-wolf born on a full moon to the alpha and Luna of my pack. Both my parents came from alpha descent -which was very rare-, making me the strongest she-wolf in my pack. It wasn't anything to brag about really, it was kind of annoying how everybody wanted their son to be my mate yada yada yada.
So my story starts off with my 18th birthday, the birthday that's important to all wolves; the birthday where we shift and find our mates.
My father used to tell me of how him and my mother were right next to each other when they found out; I used to laugh in his face while he glared at me from across the room. Yes, yes, I know. "Don't disrespect your parents Mary." Newsflash, I'm not the brightest star in the sky and it only shows how much I truly love them on the inside.
I grinned to myself at the small statement and stood up from the hammock I had been practicing my balancing on. I was getting quite good at it, only falling a few times per try. A loud cough drew me to the door to my balcony as my father handed me my bike helmet and keys. "we're going to another pack. Get changed and meet me outside."
I dropped off as my father left the room, sending me walking after him him. "Did you forget what today was? You said you cancelled all meetings."
He let out a sigh and for the first time I saw how tired my father really looked at that moment, the wrinkles showing on his face along with the dark circles under his eyes. "Mary please listen this one time and go get dressed. In something appropriate preferably."
I cocked my head to the side like the dog I was before bowing my head and walking back inside my room and picking out a suit jacket accompanied by a white shirt and black skinny jeans.
By the time I was finished getting ready the betas son stood in the doorway, his eyes running over my figure as I fixed myself up in the mirror. "You ready to go? Half the pack is going to see you and him-"
"Him?" I spun around to face my friend, the shock evident on my face. "What the hell is going on Ashton?" I narrowed my eyes as I took a step closer and poked his chest. "Tell. Me. Everything."
Because of the Alpha genes coursing through veins, he had no choice but to answer me, now matter how hard he didn't want to. "You're to be mated with Alpha Jack of the blood moon pack. You're dad thought it was a good idea since you're both direct descendants of the moon goddess and he has the strongest pack out there..."
He continued to talk, even though it was obvious I was no longer listening, my hands on my knees as I sat down on my bed.
"When?"
His eyes snapped down to me, his head tilted slightly. "When what?"
"WHEN THE F**K WAS THIS PLANNED?!"
You could hear the other wolves whimper as my voice flew through the house, hopefully being heard by the one man I wanted to it to reach.
"Last week at the pack meeting, when you were out training with the elders." His hand went to my arm, just his touch calming me down.
"But you're my mate, you told me."
Our foreheads touched as he sighed, his warm breath stirring my curls.
"I know, but this is for the pack MJ. You of all people should know why they made the decision." He brushed his fingers across the mark on my shoulder, sending a shiver through me.
"When he sees this he'll know, he found his mate before remember?"
I could see it in Ashton's eyes that he didn't agree with my fathers decision but he was training to be a beta, his opinion meant nothing when it came to an Alphas decision. My father would even defy the moon goddess herself to protect his pack.
"Don't MJ.."
My confusion was evident on my face, but it was replaced with anger when I realised what he had done. "How many times have I told you to STAY OUT OF MY HEAD."
"Mary, would you please stop shouting, there are wolves in this house with super hearing." Ashton tapped his ear and dropped onto my bed, his hand pulling me down to him.
"He can't do this, you're my mate and I'm yours, nobody else's." I couldn't help the growl that left my mouth as the devil himself walked through the door.
"Great, now you smell like him. No matter, we're leaving."
A tear slid down my cheek as my father pulled me out of my mates arms, his eyes glazing over.
"I hate you," was the first thing that left my mouth as I was thrown into the Range Rover my father had pulled up to the front, my foot successfully hitting the beta -Ashton's father- square in the jaw.
"You'll understand when you're an alpha Mary-"
"Which I'll never be because of you!"
The growl from my fathers mouth was my cue to shut up, making me slouch in the seat as the car rolled away from the pack house.
So I decided to bring this story back because I thought like I had something good going with the beginning. A lot will change but the basic plot will stay the same.
Don't forget to vote, comment, and share the story. You guys would be doing me a HUGE favour
