Dakota

Why was he at the mall? I mindlinked Rayne.

I don't know.

You're supposed to know these things, I can't deal with something like this again. I was starting to panick. How can he be back, he can't, this can't be happening.

"Are you ok? You look nervous." Chase asked, looking nervous.

"Yeah," I leaned against his chest, "I'm just fine."

Why don't you tell him? Crimson asked. He's our mate, he has the right to know.

We've only known him for a day. I don't know if I can trust him yet.

Of course we can trust him he's our mate.

We started to turn into the dirt road leading to the house.

Hey Rayne?

Yeah, she glanced up at me. Parker seemed to be holding her captive under his arm.

I kinda need to clear my head, but I also wanna annoy people to lighten the mood. I glanced up mischeviously. Wanna help?

She matched my glance almost identically. What're we gonna do?

Just follow my lead. Now pretend that I'm doing a super evil laugh since i can't do one actually.

The car pulled to a stop. Chase finally let go of me and it basically felt like I was being released from one of those rollercoasters where you had that bar to keep you from falling out. Parker did the same to Rayne.

Ready to run? I gave her a mischievous grin.

She matched the grin. Always.

We shifted into our wolves, startling everyone, and dashed into the woods.

I lost Rayne almost immediately but I continued to run, basically giving Crimson full control. Although not enough for her to go running back to Chase, since I just wanted to mess with him.

Where'd you go? I linked Rayne.

I left a little false trail for Parker to follow. I could tell she was doing a little wolf smirk. Rayne may not be the smartest in the whole "academic" area like me, but she did know how to leave false trails. I remember being there when her dad had taught her after she had first shifted.

See, her parents didn't really care whether or not she got an education in math and grammar and that stuff like my parents did. Hers just wanted her to have the knowledge of survival and how to lead a pack.

"Dakota!" I heard Chase basically roar my name. "Get the hell back here!"

I just did a wolf equivalent of laughing and ran faster and started to make a false trail for him.

After doing loops and loops and going back and forth about a million times, I went to find someone's pack of clothes so I could shift back and hide in a tree. Yeah, I could just do it as a wolf but I'm then unable to taunt Chase about his lack of tree climbing abilities. Plus it'd be awkward if I did it naked. So there's that to.

Once I finally found one of their little camouflaged sacks with a pair of basketball shorts and some college t-shirt.

Don't they have any girls that are allowed to do patrol? I thought to myself.

I shifted back and put on the clothes, having to tie the shorts super tight just so they'd fit.

I perked up when I heard some rushing steps coming towards me. "Shit," I muttered.

I sprinted for like five minutes, until I found a tree that would be pretty hard for a amateur tree climber to climb and went as high as I could on it.

Just so you know, Parker found me.... stupid mate scent, it ruins all my fun. Rayne linked me.

Well then guess who's better at this then you. I smirked to myself.

They're bringing me towards Chase so that he'll be able to find you just so you know.

The more who come the better, it'll make it better when I get to taunt him. Evil laugh.
