After the exhausting week I had, I decided to take a small vacation. A lot had happened and I didn't feel like talking to people so I went to a small island. I planned on just staying in a bikini and drinking while relaxing on the beach.

My second day lounging on a beach chair, a large shadow casted over me. I squinted as I looked up and saw the familiar face. "Roman?" I sat up still looking at him. Shirtless and with his hair up in a messy wet bun. He probably just got out of the water.

"Oh thought you were one of the Bellas." He sat at the chair next to mine.

"Well I am. I'm Dani, remember?"

"Oh right. So how's everything going?"

"Everything is fine," I lie. He glanced at me as if he knew I was lying to him. "Okay fine. Nothing is fine!" I burst. I end up telling him everything. He sat there taking it all in and listening. He actually cared too!! He ended up tell me about how his wife left him for another girl and that his family thinks he's a disgrace. How he never gets to see his daughter. We sat on the beach just talking for hours. Soon enough though we realized that the sun was about to set.

"Hey Dani sorry if I ruined your day." He stood up. I stood too. Now realizing how much taller he actually was.

"Oh you didn't ruin it. Actually I think you made me feel way better. I thought I just needed a break from everything and everyone. But I just needed someone to talk to. Thanks for listening and if you ever need someone to talk to again, I'm here." I thank him.

"Actually this was supposed to be a vacation with my wife to try to fix things. We booked before she left, I couldn't get a refund. So if you want you could join me in some of the activities. It's already paid for..." he scratched at his head. He looked nervous.

"Are you trying to ask me out?" I blush as I look at his gorgeous face.

"Maybe.." he smirked.

"Well I would gladly accept your offer Roman. Thanks." I grin. He grins back and we exchange phone numbers and tell each other what room we were in. "Wanna grab some food with me now?"

"Sure let's meet in the lobby in twenty minutes. Kinda wanna change so we can go somewhere nice." He winked.

"Sure. See you in twenty minutes." I nodded. We headed to our separate rooms to get ready.

As I was headed down to the lobby my phone rings.

"Hey Nikki!" I answer it.

"Hey you sound better. Guess Cabo is treating you right?"

"I actually am going on a date with this guy."

"Oooo so you're having a fling?" My sister teases.

"Actually he's on vacation too. His wife just left him for another woman. He just needed to get away too." I explain as I locked my door.

"Hmmm you sure he's telling you the truth?"

"Nikki! I don't think R..." I realized that I shouldn't tell her about Roman. She doesn't need to know about his wife. I don't think he wants the whole roster to know. "Ryan would lie to me."

"Ryan? Is that his name?"

"Uh yeah" I lie as I open the door to the stairwell and start my way down to the lobby.

"He sounds cute. Tell me more about Ryan."

"He is more than cute. He's tall, funny, a great listener." I think of Roman and instantly feel my face flushing.

"Sounds like you already like him. And you two met when?" Nikki pestered me.

"Uhh" Shit I think. I can't tell her that we met last week at her work. And I can't lie to her and say just now. "I actually knew him for a while now."

"Oh. So why are you spilling about him now?"

"Cause he was just a friend but now I think he could be more?"

"Oh. Well what about Seth?"

"I gotta go. I'm about to go on a date with Ryan." I say quickly once I see Roman sitting at one of the lobby couches playing on his phone waiting for me. I hang up before she could say anything more and greet Roman. "Hey you!"

"Hey. You look great!" He grinned standing up.

"Thanks. I hope you weren't waiting long."

"Nah just a few minutes. But you are worth it. I actually was texting Seth."

"Oh."

"About you. Sort of. I was just seeing if he was over you. He's my friend and I didn't want to make things awkward." He explained.

"And?" I ask intrigued by his honesty.

"Let's just go get some food." He changed the subject. I didn't pressure him for more.
