You blow in your cup of coffee, trying to cool it down. Followed by lifting it to your lips and taking a sip. "Aaaahhh, " you scream "that burns." You immediately put it down. You sigh and look at your watch, 11.07am, damn you're tired for this time of the day. You plod upstairs, once you reach your room, you let yourself fall on your bed. Without bothering to undress you crawl under the sheets and get your notebook, trying to remember everything that had happened today.

"So, where do you know Vincent and Jack from?" you asked again to break the kind of awkward silence.

She smirked like she was deciding whether she should answer honestly or not.

"Before you say anything, Olivia, I would request you, to be honest with me. I rather have you saying that you don't want to reply, then that you would lie to me. Thank you."

She nodded, "First, yes I will. Second, one thing that you've got to learn. I understand that you're new to this whole world but keep this in your mind: don't ever request someone that again. you'll get fooled. because you will think that you get an honest answer, but you only give that person the opportunity to lie to you."

You nod "noted."

She smiled, "You really want to save him huh?"

You nod, "yeah" you decided not to say that there's no moment of the day that you aren't busy with thinking of-of him. You want to save him and you want him to be alive, for as long that that's up to your ability of solving these puzzles.

"I first met Jack, he was a real good friend of Vincent's. Where I met Vincent, you will find out sooner or later. It's part of Vincent's backup plan in case he would ever get kidnapped by anyone. I want you to find this out yourself, I want to see how you can handle puzzles and information, how long it will take you to solve one. I apologise for not telling, but I assume Vincent is better at explaining it his own way. Jack and I were colleagues. We worked together on secret occasions. Vincent and I really looked up at him, he was fast, always had a plan A and B, so that nothing would ever fail. Vincent managed to learn this, his biggest plan B is the one you are currently fulfilling. I never managed to take the time and make a spider web of a second plan. - anyway, Jack made an extreme blunder, (I'm not sure if I can tell you yet, but once I feel like it's time, I'll tell you, promised.) which caused him to quit the job. He was broken and blamed Vincent, completely unfair. Since then, he and Vincent haven't gotten along well, I assume that he has a new job, in where he found Vincent's location. He now, probably, works at some kind of police department. There's no other way to have access to somebody's location."

"well, he saw me, probably knows my name and background, and he knows Vincent. According to your information, I predict Jack to have a plan B as well. How big is the possibility that he has a plan B?" you asked.

She bit her pointer-fingernail as she looked up to the ceiling. "about 60%, I can't say it's 50/50 because there's a 70% chance Vincent thought that Jack would be the one who would kidnap him and so he created a plan that would fool Jack and make him believe something that isn't true. I'm not sure what that will be, but I think he prepared something like such."

"Thank you, " you said "last question, a-am I in danger?" You stuttered, almost afraid for Olivia's reply.

"Well, I think you're for about-" she said but she got interrupted by the waiter from the beginning who opened the door.

"Oliv, normally I would let this slip but you have to come, it's necessary. we need you" he said, sounding quite hopeless.

She nodded, "I'll be there in a sec, Simon." Simon nodded and walked out, leaving the door open "I'm sorry, I hope to see you soon Emma, don't come here too often, it might look suspicious. be sure to act like you're watched all the time. you may not, in fact, be watched always, but don't ever think you're not. It was nice meeting you" she puts her hand out, you shake it.

"Thank you, Olivia, I appreciate it. and I will be careful. now hurry! they need you." you smile as you hide your disappointment of her not being able to answer your question. Nobody in your entire life had worse timing than Simon just had.

You wrote the most important things down in your notebook. and locked it up in your safe.

On your way back home you bought a necklace, a very cheap one to be honest. you take it out of your pocket and let the key slide over the chain. You put the necklace around your neck and hide it under your shirt.

You're done for today, you decide, clearing up your mind. You reach out your arm and switch off your night lamp. "Goodnight Emma," you say to yourself, as you slowly fell asleep.
