No Matter How Bad Things Get
Scene 1: The “Sand Men” are in the middle of an altercation with a gang member who has apparently been giving information about their business. The gang begins to viciously attack this gang member until his death.
“Reaper”: (mischievous tone) So I hear you’ve been letting outsiders in on our little business?
Member: (Shameful tone; begging) No no no no, I promise you, I swear to God I wouldn’t say anything to‘em if I didn’t have good reasons. Kara-- I mean, Karma, please you gotta help me out, I--.
“Mustang”: (Smirking devilishly) Oh what’s this? Babe, he’s calling you.
Member: (Begging) Come on guys don’t do this…I’m one of you guys. Come on A.D… you know I wouldn’t do any of that stuff to hurt you guys. I have a family to protect, you know I--
“Reaper”: (Agitated tone) Shut up! I don’t care if they put a gun in your mouth and swore they would kill your whole family if you didn’t give up our business secrets; maybe they should have done it to save me the trouble. (Eye-balling Karma) What do you think we should do, Karma?
“Karma”: (Seductively stroking the cheek of Mustang, and strutting to the victim) Let’s see… (mischievous look and pauses) Let him go to sleep.
Member: (Terrified expression) Wait! Wha—what? Don’t do that, oh God please don’t!
(Reaper nods at the gang, Karma walks off with Mustang and waves. Gang picks up the victim.)
Member: (Aghast tone & expression) Wait please! Karma don’t go! Stop! Let go! What are you going to do with me? Please don’t!
“Reaper”: For goodness sakes he’s making too much noise! (Walks up to victim) It’s about time you take a nice long nap; good night.
Member: No please don’t, I don’t -- (A.D. breaks victim’s neck)
Scene 2: {Meanwhile} “Dog” (Jessie) is figuring put a way to get Andréa’s attention. Andréa is with her friends. Gang is looking for Jessie and assumes he is snitching on the business.
“Reaper”: (Speaking to gang in office) So now we’re one member less…(scoping the room) or maybe two. Where’s our pet?
(Gang members looking around)
“Reaper”: (Frustrated and slams his fist on the desk) Dammit guys, come on! You all know the fuzz is already on our asses; we can’t afford the whole gang to be wondering off! A.D. go find him!
(A.D. storms out the room to look for him.)
{Meanwhile}
“Dog”: (Talking to himself) Ok I’ll say, “Hey Andréa, you look pretty today…” wait no, that won’t work; how about, “Be mine…” Dammit how do I do this?
“Missy”: (Disgusted) You know there is something totally looking at you right now.
Andréa: (Rolling her eyes) Aren’t they always? I mean its guy after guys with everyone here; plus I’m sure that I’m too good for him anyway.
“Daré”: (Snobby) Sweetie, I’m sure all of us here are.
(All the girls start high-fiving and laughing and “Dog” begins to walk over with a nervous expression.)
