Surprise Birthday

Rehan's pov:

(In the restaurant)

"Common Rehan it's a simple matter and you are definitely stressing out" said Max.

"No, it's not a simple matter, in fact it's.. it's... Maiyra's first birthday" I replied glaring at him

"First birthday?" he asked looking at me as if I grown 2 heads suddenly.

2heads? Wait where did that thought come from? May be that would be simply awesome right, I can use both brains to think for a nice gift to my Maiyra. But, how am I going to coordinate them?

"Down to earth Mr. Rehan" he said for which I decided not to respond as I was having a serious thought about having more than one brain.

"Rehaaaann!!!!! You haven't said me that you invited Maiyra too for discussing about the surprise birthday party?"

"Me... what??.. Noo.. where is Maiyra?" I searched for Maiyra but didn't find her.

"Thank god, at least now you are listening. I thought you went into coma thinking about your wife" he replied nodding head.

I tried to fake anger but he knows me too well, so we started to have a conversation.

"Hey man, you asked me to meet you to have a conversation about the birthday party" said Max.

"Umm yes. Actually I want it to be special to her but don't know what to do"

"What am I here for?" replied Max with an assuring smile and took the seat before me and I smiled in return.

"Now, let's get to the point, what do you mean by first birthday?"

"Well this is her first birthday after she confessed her love for me and it's her first birthday with her complete family including her parents, Drew, Vishal, Tara, you and I"

Max's eyes were slightly glistened after listening to his name and he gave a sad smile. I guess that made him remember Zara.

"So, you want it to be special to her" he asked

I nodded my head enthusiastically.

"Why don't you celebrate birthday party in your house with?"

"House? Noo may be in some calm and peaceful place and definitely Maiyra would like it? What do you say?"

"Will you allow me to complete the sentence?" he questioned for which I nodded smiling sheepishly.

"Why don't you celebrate birthday party in your house decorating it with balloons, colourful lights and ribbons?"

Balloons? Ribbons? No way. I am not going to do that.

"No way Max, everyone would laugh at her. For your kind information my wife is turning 25, not 5 years"

"That's right she is turning 25 years, but till now I guess she never celebrated her birthday with her family like every child does"

"But... but..." my brain froze and i didn't even complete the sentence.

"I know this may sound wierd, but as she lived in a child orphanage, she might definitely have missed the birthday celebration and that too the absence of the family makes feel too bad, Rehan. Just think about it. She will definitely like the birthday party in the house"

"Hmm it makes sense now. When I asked her why her family wasn't present during our wedding, she just gave a sad smile and said that I am her family and when she first heard that Mr and Mrs Adams were her parents she was soo happy too"
