"why would you ask them to come??" i argued,  frustrated with her actions. Not too loud, though, Trying to keep it to ourselves while the boys were still sitting and eating their lunch,

Yeona suddenly, without my permission, asked the boys over for our final night and meal at the secret garden. Why would i even think of agreeing to that? to spend my final day there with them?

"its a good idea! we get to know them even more. wasnt lunch with them nice? why do you hate them so much?" she argued back

"i dont hate them..i just" i groaned "its just so personal and we dont even know them"

yeona placed her hands on both my shoulders, looking me in the eye. "Jihee." she said, her tone serious. "You're letting go of something that needs to be let go. Will you stay upset about that one thing or do something about it? make new friends. go to new places. This is our chance."

I looked down, knowing what she's saying is true. "ok?" she said, kneeling down and smiling at me. i nodded, pursing my lips

"Its fine if you dont want us to come, really" Seokjin said "dont make a fuss about it, we're fine. right guys?" They nodded."ofcourse" namjoon said, smiling

"no really, we want you to come. you guys should." yeona said, smiling as we move towards the table again

"cool" jimin nodded

I sighed, sitting down next to yeona, my gaze shifting to the king of the toilets, jungkook. He was quiet, his eyes shifting fast, looking at everyone talking. He looked cute. Like a bunny. A nervous bunny.

I havent noticed i was staring yet until one of the boys closest to me spoke in a low voice. "He's kind of shy when it comes to new people. He gets warmer by the day, no worries" I blinked at Yoongi as he talked

"I wasnt staring!" I fumbled, but it came out in a weird way, like i said it as if i got caught red handed.

"i didnt say that" yoongi chuckled. All i could do was nervously laugh, looking away quickly

<<<<>>>>

"JIHEEE" yeona screamed, holding the door open "come on the boys are out"

"alright alright, im coming! gimme a sec" My eyes searching for the envelope

"there you are" i whispered, snatching it and putting it in the bag

I looked at the mirror one last time, wearing casual clothes. My thoughts wondered off to when i insisted that me and my mom visit the restaurant, thinking if she remembered she might return back to her senses

//

"Hows school?" She asked, looking at the menu

My eyes widened, feeling joyful she asked "School's great! They actually added new clubs. There's-"

"May i take your order?" The waiter came, smiling and looking happy to serve us

"Yeah..mom what do you think about the lasagna we used to always order when-"

"ill take the salad." She said, giving her menu to the waiter.

Looking disappointed but still hopeful, i spoke "the lasagna please."

The waiter scribbled away"Order's coming up in a few minutes"he smiled, taking my menu

I looked back at my mother, who was looking around the restaurant, no emotions shown.

She looked tired. She probably was. her eyes looked dull. Her hair messy, a few grey hairs here and there...I missed her. a lot.

"i think we've come here with everyone we'd ever known" i spoke "we invited everyone"

I waited for her to say something but she just nodded, so i continued "yeona and i used to throw food at each other all the time" i laughed "we used to come home all orange. remember?"

"yeah" she nodded "and now youre a big girl"

I looked down, fiddled with my fingers. It wasnt going as well as i expected.

"dont you want to know how shes doing?" i quickly replied, afraid she'd turn me down "she's doing great. she's being a really good friend to me."

she nodded "thats great"

How could she speak like that? i always wondered how she can let the words come out but with no feelings. They didnt come out annoyed, hateful, or happy. Nothing. its like she wasnt talking at all. Just her lips moving.

"I really love this place" i said, looking around.

"its probably closing soon. Its too old and no one comes here anyways. its dead"

I was about to argue back, shout and tell her this place is never closing, nothing's going to happen. that it will stay here forever. but shut my mouth when the food was served. we thanked the waiter as he went back to the kitchen

We sat there for a while. I raised my head and looked at my mother, then looked down at her boring looking greens she ate so slowly. My mother used to be so.. colorful.

"i think they still have that family picture we took-" i said, hopeful to save this dark night, but i was interrupted by the sound of a phone. my mom's phone.

"excuse me" she said, quickly standing up and walking away from the table, answering her phone.

I waited.

and waited

and waited

fed up, i stood and walked to my furious mother, whos ridiculously shouting to her phone

I just stood there, hoping she'd notice, or say something. But instead, she looked away, anywhere but to me.
