I was a month old when you got me. You were smiling at me and had shining eyes. I wagged my tail because I knew you were happy. We arrived at your house and you placed me down. We played and played until the sun set and you left me outside inside a cage. It was dark and cold; I was shivering. I cried aloud so you could hear me. I was trying to get out of the cage and I heard a loud sound from the sky and scared me even more. I cried even louder so you could hear me. You came running out and sat beside me, patting my head until I fell asleep.

I awoke and you were gone. I cried again and you came running out with a cloth. You wrapped it around me and carried me in your house. It was warm, you were warmer. I rested on your chest and listened to the beating. It calmed me and I drifted off.

A few years have passed and puppies had replaced my spot for attention. I was jealous so I tried to fight them, but every time I do, you'd spank me and scold me and make me feel guilty. I was hurt. I didn't understand why you would do that. All I wanted was your attention. I miss you.

One dark night, I found my way outside the gates. You weren't at home so I thought that I might as well look for you. It was cold and the wind was howling loud. It started to rain and I was soaked in water. I tried looking for you but you didn't seem to be anywhere near me. I tried going back home but I realized something: I'm lost. I then saw a house with a familiar scent. Is this home? Am I really home? I ran towards the house but big bright lights stopped me from doing so. After that, everything was dark.

I woke up and it was sunny outside. I was sleeping beside you. It was all just a dream. You went outside the room and I was left on your bed. I went back to sleep. You came back inside and were smelling clean and had different clothes on. I followed you outside your room and outside the front door when you went. You rode the bus and I followed you in. You didn't look good though, were you sick? I laid down at your feet hoping that you would get well soon. Don't worry, I'm here.

You went home after a long day and you look even worse. You didn't even notice me the whole day. I followed you into the house and after a few seconds you started to scream. I ran all the way to you and I was in shock. I couldn't believe it. I went to you. I cried beside you and you looked at me straight into my eyes as if you were able to see me for the first time that day. You looked away and started to cry.

"I love you." I tried to murmur. "I love you." I said again. I love you. Don't forget. I tried saying it louder. I Love You. Please say something! "I LOVE YOU." Please don't leave me hanging. I love you. I love you. I love you. I love you. Please stop crying. I love you. I'm here, it's okay. I'm here beside you. I love you. I started crying out those words until my throat started to hurt. I turned away and heard a faint voice, "I love you." It said. I wagged my tail and continued walking away. I can see a light and a big land full of flowers. I run wild and freely. I look back again. You were still there crying and once again, before I disappear, I say these last words, "I love you forever." I walk further into the light and look back to see if you're still there but you were now out of sight. Even though I'm farther away, I still heard a faint voice, maybe a whisper saying, "I love you too." I somehow smile and walked away.

I might not be with you right now but you are always in my heart and in my dreams. You make me smile. You make the already bright and sunny days even brighter and sunnier. I will miss sleeping beside you and I will miss your warmth but I'm in a better place now. Don't worry. I'll see you someday and we'll be together again, just like old times. You'd carry me in your arms and I'd fall asleep easily. I'd wake up and you're there with me. I will miss you but stay strong for me until the day we meet again, okay? I'll be waiting by the flower fields and I'll repeat the last words I heard from you, again and again. I'll never forget.
