Chapter Seven

"Hey there, Christine! How's you doing?" Lorelai called up her best friend, Christine, who was Lorelai's friend since childhood. 

"Much better. Days fly out like butterflies, being with her. Watching her over, her growth every day, it makes me feel, as if I am her real mother. Thanks Lorelai, for giving me her custody."

"Its me, that should be thankful to you. But... I... "Lorelai couldn't control her emotions, any longer. 

"Let me tell you what! My life has changed since I took the responsibility for your daughter. When a teen, how irresponsible and drunkard I was! But now, I am a completely transformed Christine, Thanks to you Lorelai!" 

"Ohh... Christine..! You made me a bit emotional..!" A sob escaped from Lorelai's voice. Further she continued.. 

"What about her leukemia treatment? Any new update so far.." Lorelai asked, controlling her sobbing. 

"Don't worry Lorelai. Doctors say that, with the treatment she's getting she will be just fine. Let me tell this to you, that 25% of her Leukemia has already been cured. Isn't that cheerful!?" Christine tried to cheer up Lorelai. 

"Ohh.. 25% huh..! I want my daughter to be 100% cured.."

"Believe in Almighty, he will make all things, just fine.." 
"Yeah.. I hope so.. "

Suddenly, Lorelai hears a baby's crying sound on her phone.. 
"See.. My baby has woke up already and is hungry now. I should better attend her.."

"Sure.. Just take care of my daughter, as you are doing it since one and half year.."

"Just be assured.. "Thus Christine, ended the call.

The condition for her daughter, at such a young age, forced Lorelai to continue her work in the filth of 'The Prey' which was well renowned for its handsome payment to all its workers.
Lorelai was lost in her thoughts, when she suddenly heard the knock on the door.

"Hey, its Claudia here. Wanna talk to you, Lorelai!" Claudia's voice was filled with joy.

Lorelai opened the door and happened to saw a joyous Claudia standing on her door, with a cake and a beer bottle.

"Hey, Claudia! You are in a party mood already. What's up with you?"

"Guess what! I got recruited in 'The Prey' today. And hence, I thought of celebrating this moment, with my only friend in this vast city, that's you, babes..!"

"So sweet of you. It would be my pleasure to be a part of your happiness, Claudia." Lorelai said, faking a smile on her face. But deep inside, she was worried about Claudia, due to the behavior with beautiful girls and the overall nature of the beast brothers.

"So, may I come in, Miss Lorelai.." Claudia asked Lorelai.

"Here. I thought we were going to celebrate at your place."

Claudia's face drooped, as Lorelai showed hesitation. Lorelai noticed that and hence welcomed her in her room..

"Then come in. Lets Party tonight.." Hearing those words from Lorelai, Claudia cheerfully entered her room and they both, started making preparations.

The cake was placed on the table.

"Well, I will get a knife for the cake. You just hold on!" Saying so, Lorelai went into the kitchen to fetch a knife,..

Claudia just sat there, when she saw some photographs strewn below a pillow, on the sofa. 

In a photograph, she saw a couple, which was none other than Lorelai and Mason. Claudia was struck with surprise. Then, she checked the next photograph, in which Lorelai was pictured with a new born baby and an another woman,who probably seemed to be her friend. Claudia wasn't able to link anything between these two photographs.
