I'm too afraid to move. Why is she here? The door to the house is open and she is standing there. Wearing a business suit and her brown leather purse.
"Who are you?" Ask Noah. In fear I tighten my grip on his hand and he looks at me. The look on my face, he must have known something was wrong. He grips my hand. I need him right now.
"I am Miss Kinley. Luna's aunt. I've come to take her home." No! I take a step back. I can't go back. Noah looks at her and then back at me.
"Luna isn't going back with you." I look at Noah and no longer afraid.
"And why not?" I look at her and I stand behind Noah, looking past his shoulder. We stare at each other. I know what to say.
"Because I love him." I say with all the strength I have. I love him and that will never change.
"So then why was the wedding canceled? I got an email from Minnik saying that the wedding was cancelled." That was when he came into the hospital room and we told him that I changed my mind and wasn't leaving.
"The wedding wasn't cancelled. It was only delayed. We plan to marry, but after we get to know each other." says Noah and I nod at her to agree to the decision.
"It already seems you two know each other. Especially if Luna is willing to hide behind you and not be afraid. I swear that child is a disgrace to this family. I'm glad you like her. Cause I can't wait to get rid of her..." she kept going on, but Noah walks up to her and slaps her. She took a moment to gain her anger. I couldn't believe he did that.
"Don't speak that way of Luna. She is beautiful, smart, and caring which is obviously better than you. The only reason she sees you that way is because of what a witch you are. You never give her any attention and all you did was raise her as if she was a maid. You can leave. This house is only for Luna and I. Get out!" Noah defending me. It's what every girl dreams of. Of having a prince that defends his princess, but this is reality and right now it's amazing.
"How dare you!" I walk up to my aunt and grab her shoulder. She looks at me and then leaped forward at Noah. Wrapping her hands around his neck.
"What are you doing?!" I step towards them and try to take her hands away from his neck. Hearing the sound of his voice and breath stopping. The air from his lungs coming out. "Let him go!" It helps just enough to get him free. He slips through her hands and he's free. He falls to the ground. She turns and grabs my neck. I can't feel my neck. It hurts. My lungs. I can't move. Noah rocketed to my side and released me from her grasp. I crawl away and stay on my knees trying to catch a breath of air. Noah pushes my aunt back towards the walkway in the house. He runs to me and gets on his knee.
"Are you alright?" He whispers. His left hand on my shoulder while his right holding my gland. I nod to him. I can't say anything for a while. I still need to steady my breaths. My lungs which were once collapsed and now they are lifted by a man who wanted this life. I take a moment, but then what happened to my aunt. Noah put his arms tightly around me where my head leans against his chest. I can hear his heart beating loudly as if the were drums of a beat. He's looking at my aunt who is up on her feet looking down and Noah and me. She's hunches and her oddly white hair flopping out of her bun. Her old face wrinkled into a big grin. Her suit wrinkled and dirty.
"You will agree to my condition!..." she still demanded. She was puffing out air. She must have gotten out of breath herself.
"Kate, that's enough." We turn and see behind us Noah's father standing in the doorway.
"Kate?" I whisper. I never knew my aunts first name. She never told anyone that.
"Leave them alone. The wedding will still happen, right?" He turned his head to Noah and I. Noah nodded in agreement. "They only ask for time." My aunt raised up herself up and walked out the front door. Noah's father followed closing the door slowly, but before the door was completely closed I saw her face hold a wide grin. Noah gets up, reaches for my hand to help me up, and we both stand. He looks at me, but I'm still starring at the door.
"Are you okay?" He lets go of my left hand and puts it in my shoulder.
"I-mmm... I'm o-okay... I-th-th-think-k." I said stuttering. I regain a part of myself. "Are you okay?" I turn to face him and look at him. He looks at me with worry. My neck still hurts and I bet his does too. I take my hand and gently place it on his neck. He flinches when I touch. I moved my hand away. "I'm sorry..." I whisper.
"No..." he grabs my hand and places it back on his neck and he doesn't flinch this time.
"Does it hurt?"
"Yes, but I'm more concerned for you." He places his hand on my neck and then moved it up to my cheek. I didn't flinch. "I love you, Luna."
"But why? All I do is give you trouble. All I do is hurt you and I don't want to do that." I let go of him and run away. He wraps his arms around me from behind.
"Love is worth the heavy price. You are worth more to me than anything. I love you because you're kind, you never give up, and you will always try to fix a situation. I love you when you read your books, when you smile at the sun, when you laugh, I love you in everything you do." I wrap my arms around his and reach my chin.
"I love you too." I turn around and hug him. "Never let me go..."
"Never..."
