Chapter 4

 We woke up the next morning still in shock about what had happened last night. "It's crazy! Everything happened all at once. You know I have read that text from Brendan like a million times and I still can't believe it!" said Emma. "I know!! I have done the same. But girl it is a reality. Our dreams have come true!" replied Laruen. We both took turns using the shower and got ready for the day ahead. We went to the closest Tim Horton's for breakfast since we didn't know about any other breakfast places in the area. After breakfast, we decided to take a walk around the city because we need to be back at the hotel to get ready for the game. During our scenic walking, Lauren got a text from Nate saying that they would drop by the hotel around 5:30 to drop off tickets.

It was around 3:30 when we got back to the hotel to start getting ready for the game. It was now 5:00 and we were just about ready. Emma was wearing her Gallagher jersey, black leggings, high boots and her limited-edition winter classic habs toque. I am wearing Nate's jersey with my habs cap and red converse.

A few moments after we heard a knock at the door. We looked at each other and slowly approached the door. Looking through the peephole, Lauren saw that it was Nate and Brendan. We opened the door. They were there to drop off the tickets. We were at the door chatting and the guys suggested that we would just go down to the bell center with them now and we can meet the rest of the team. "We were thinking, since we are heading to the Bell Centre after here, would you girls be interested in coming with us and getting a private tour plus meet the rest of the team?" asked Brendan. And of course, we said yes. "We would love too! But we don't want to get you guys in trouble, are you sure it is okay for us to come?" asked Emma. "Don't worry. It is no problem. We took care of that part." replied Nate. "Thank you so much! How did we get so lucky to get to know two amazing generous guys." said Lauren.

Thank god Emma and I were ready. We went back into the room to get our purses and room key. We went back in the hallway where they boys were waiting and headed to where Brendan had parked his car. It was a really nice night for a game. Mild but with a breeze. Brendan's car was about a block away from the hotel. The walking distance allowed us to talk more and really get to know them. Emma and Brendan were walking head, while Nate and I were walking behind them. It felt so right to be standing next to this guy and having such a wonderful conversation. I looked ahead to Emma and Brendan and I could just see how happy Emma was. As we got closer to the car, he bent over toward me a touch and whispered in my ear, "You look really hot in that jersey tonight.".

The boys were such gentlemen. They each opened the door for us. During the car ride Emma and Brendan sat in the front, while Nate and I sat in the back. The car ride was about 15 minutes from the hotel and during that time Nate and I didn't stop talking, laughing and having a good time. I haven't felt this way in such a long time. It was like I knew this man for so long even though I had just met him. Brendan was a pretty slow driver but I figured he would be tonight, since he seemed very distracted by Emma. When we finally got to the arena, we headed up to player's friends and family area. We needed to pass through security first. The two guys were walking ahead of us and Emma whispered into my ear, "I cannot believe we are walking back here. Never in a million years did I imagine us being able to walk back here!! By the way, how's it going with Nate?". Lauren replied, "It is going amazing! I feel so comfortable around him. It is strange to feel like this". "Well that is what you call happiness and maybe... you're falling in love with him??" I can't believe what Emma just said. Maybe I am? Maybe I am not? It can't be possible. I just met him! This conversation was far from over, because the boys were slowly realizing that we were falling behind. As we entering the area, Nate and Brendan took us on a tour of where they warm up, lounge and get ready for games. It was incredible. Our last stop was the locker room. The boys went in first to see if it was clear to enter, "Are you guys decent, we are bringing girls in!!" We waited and then went inside. As we walked in all the oohs and ahhs were screamed out, Nate and Brendan just laughed it off and flipped a few fingers. They introduced us to everyone. We had short conversations with a few team members and they mocked Nate and Brendan. This was the coolest moment of Emma and I's life.

It was now time for us to head to our seats. Nate and Brendan walked us out to the entrance. "Thank you guys so much for this. It was incredible. How could we ever repay you for this", said Emma. "It was our absolute pleasure to treat two beautiful girls. We are glad you enjoyed it. And you did repay us already because Nate and I gained two really amazing friends."

Emma and I blushed a little. We each gave them a hug and as we were walking away, I shouted out, "Score one for us!". We headed to our seats and man were they amazing!! We were so close the view was amazing.

The game was absolutely amazing. The habs ended up winning and Brendan scored a goal with Nate on the assist. When they scored Emma and I looked at each other because we knew it was for us. We headed back to where the boys were meeting us because we made plans to go out for dinner after the game at the local wing place. "Beautiful game boys, especially that goal Brendan!", said Emma. "Hey I assisted too!" called out Nate making sure he was getting credit. Emma and I laughed. The restaurant wasn't that far from the Bell Centre and it was a very nice evening for a walk with the most handsomest man ever. When we arrived at the place we sat at a table for four. Emma and Brendan across from each other and Nate and I across from each other. There was a little space between the connected tables which was perfect. We all ordered a set of drinks to start off with. Brendan and Nate ordered beers and Emma and I ordered sex on the beach. The night consisted of eating and a few moments of group conversations. We talked about our families, where we were from, our backgrounds, and mostly got to know each other a lot more. There were moments where it was just me and Nate talking. It felt like we were the only two people in the room. It was so natural. Occasionally I glanced over at Emma and Brendan, and all I saw was sparks flying. It has been a really long time since I have seen Emma smile like that. I could tell that something was happening there. But on my end, it was more like a really good friendship, nothing like hers. As the night was almost over, it was time to use the bathroom "Emma would you like to join me, I need to go powder my nose before we leave?", "Sure, we will be right back." replied Emma. "You and Brendan are so cute and sparks are definitely flying Em!!" said Lauren. "You think so? I have a really good feeling about him. We just hit it off really well. And the same is happening for you and Nate. The way he looks and you and the way you look back, it is so romantic." replied Emma. "What are you talking about! There are no sparks. We are just friends and nothing more. I am not even looking for a relationship right now anyways. I am enjoying the single life.", "You know Lauren, for once it would be nice for you to allow yourself to find happiness and love and see that it is right in front of you." Emma responded as she walked out the bathroom. Maybe she is right. Honestly I don't know what to think any more.

"Everything okay?" asked Nate. "Yeah everything's fine, just a long line for the ladies room." I replied. Like the night before, they walked us back to the hotel. Emma and Brendan were ahead and Nate and I behind. As we got closer to the hotel, Nate stopped me and started to speak. "It has been the best two days of my life. I met the most beautiful girl who was sitting at the bar across from me. Over these past two days, I have learned so much about you. You are a hot, sexy, intelligent, and funny human being..." What was going on? Where was he going with this? Nate continued, " I have gained such an amazing friend, that I have started to develop feelings for you. I was wondering... would you like to go on a date with me?" That's when it hit me. I do have feelings for this guy standing in front of me. "Yes, I would love to go on a date with you. It would make me the happiest girl alive." We both had the biggest smile on our faces. When we reached the front of the hotel it was time to say good night. "Good night Nate. That you for an amazing evening. And I can't wait for our date". "Good night Lauren. Me either". And as the last words came out of his mouth I could feel the pull between us. Nate stepped closer to me and our lips locked. We kissed once and then again. It was so smooth and so natural. When we released lips, it was a feeling like no other. "Good Night Lauren". I walked into the hotel and up to my room. All i kept thinking was, this is the start of something amazing.
