Chapter 10

The next morning Emma and I were the first ones up. Emma was sitting in the kitchen with a cup of coffee and looking at one of the magazines we get mailed monthly. I got myself a cup of coffee and joined her. "Can I tell you something" I asked her, "Sure I'm all ears" Emma said, putting down the magazine. "Well... last night after Nate and I came home together we did it and after we did it, he told me he loved me and then fell asleep" I told her and then took a sip of my coffee. "Well, what did you say? Do you love him back?". To be honest, I can't answer that after what happened with my past relationships and the fear of having my heart shattered into a million pieces again. How can I truly know if Nate will be the same or different. "Well I do have different feeling about him. Last night when I was wrapped around him I never wanted to leave. I wanted to stay with him forever" I said. "Lauren, you answered your own question. Bring your walls down a little and try it with Nate. You will never know unless you give it a shot. And from what I can tell he really likes you . He is also treating you different then the rest of the guys you were with." "I know. I will give it a shot. And I want to hear what happened with you and Brendan last night?. "Well, we started by walking around downtown and then eventually making it into my bed. I have to confess Brendan and I did it too last night. I think I am falling in love with him." "That is amazing!! Omg!! I can't believe we both did it last night and had no idea we were both home. You deserve love Em, and I am so happy you are finding it with Brendan." I can't believe my best friend and I have these amazing relationships with guys who appreciate and love us for who we are. Life does turn around and eventually good things will happen.

A short time after Emma and I had woken up, we could hear feet walking down the hallway but we weren't sure if it was the boys or our neighbours, so we ignored it.

Nathan's POV:

When I woke up I noticed that Lauren was already up, which was surprising because I know how much she hated mornings. As I was walking out of her room, right across the hall in Emma's room, Brendan was walking out in just his boxers from last night and no shirt on, "Hey Nate what's up?" Brendan said casually. "Nothing much just going to the kitchen for some coffee." I said. As Brendan walked down the hall in front of me, I couldn't help but notice the scratch marks on his back. "I guess you had one hell of a night Brendan" I said laughing a bit, knowing that we both had one crazy night. He blushed a bit knowing it was true. Then we walked in the kitchen where the girls were already up with coffee and fashion magazines in their hands and talking about something, I'm guessing the new spring line by Forever 21. "Good morning babe" I said walking over to Lauren giving her a gentle kiss. "Good morning". Brendan did the same to Emma. "Did you guys sleep good last night" Emma asked. "I would say that we did, what do you think Lauren?", replied Nate, "I think we had a fantastic sleep", Lauren replied with a smirk on her face. "Ya but I know that Emma and I had a much better night, didn't we babe". With those words Emma blushed a bit and gave Brendan a small nudge to the arm. Together Lauren, Emma, Brendan and I ate breakfast and drank our coffee and enjoyed the beautiful morning with our amazing ladies. We ate fresh pancakes that Emma had made with an old family recipe her mother used to make.

(Lauren and Emma POV)

After breakfast the guys had to hurry up and go to the airport to catch a plane because they had a game in New Jersey the next day. We drove Nate and Brendan back to the airport. As sad as we were to say goodbye again we knew that we would be talking to each other the whole flight over and before and after their game. But saying good bye this time was different. There were tears and I felt sad to see him go. And after what happened last night and what he said, I just don't know how to feel.

When we got back from the airport Emma insisted we pick up the conversation we started this morning before the boys woke up. "I have to admit saying goodbye this time was the hardest thing I have had to do." said Emma to start the conversation. "I know. I was like I never wanted him to leave. I wanted his arms to stay wrapped around me." replied Lauren, "So it's true, you are falling in love with him aren't you?" asked Emma. "You know what I think I am. I am in love with Nathan Anthony Richard Beaulieu. I have fallen madly in love with him!" And with that I was overpowered by this feeling of love. A love like I have never felt before. I picked up my phone and texted him:

Heyy babe, i know you are playing right now but there is something that I want to say to you..... I love you and I am in love with you. Can't wait to see you.

After a few hours of sending the text message, I was in my pjs and in my room watching the "Sex and the City" movies. I know that I can't watch these movies with him because he will be bored out of his mind, so when I'm alone I like to watch these four ladies work the city and find love. Mid way through the first movie I got a call from Nate. When I answered, "Love you too babe" were the first words that left his mouth, and in the background I can hear someone laugh and then a hard thump. "Sorry baby Brendan was being an idiot and I gave him a little shove oops" he said with a chuckle in his voice, and I was full on laughing in my room. "So I see you got my text message" I said to him after our small laughing fit. "Yes I did and I really wish I could give you a big kiss and just hold you as you finish watching Sex and the City" he said "Wait, back up, how did you know I was watching Sex and the City?" I asked him in total disbelief, amazed that he knew what I was watching. "Well, I saw it on your netflix list and I wanted to know what it was about, and man those ladies have some good times." he said with a chuckle in his voice. "Babe I don't think I ever loved you more than I do now." I said and I could feel him smiling on the other line. "Oh babe,I love you too, but we need to watch the movies together because you have to explain stuff to me." he said "Alright babe I would love that." And for the next few hours Nate and I talked and talked.

2 YEARS LATER..

After two years of Nathan and I's relationship, he had asked me to move with him to Montreal. He found a restaurant that was in need of a maitre d. I decided to take the job and Nathan, Joey and I would all live together in one apartment. It was one of the hardest decisions that I had to make because I was leaving my best friend behind. Emma and I have been friends for so long that it was like apart of me was being left behind. The two of us have always had each other's back and were in close range when needed. Now, we will lean on each other just with the distance between us. No matter who we are dating or where we live Emma and I will always have each others back and be the best of friends. Emma decided to stay in Toronto because her job wouldn't let her be able to move to another city even though she tried. But her and Brendan are still together and keeping up the long distance relationship. Brendan comes and visits every second weekend, and Emma makes many trips to Montreal as often as she can.

Today is the day I have to officially move out of Emma and I's apartment. The two of us have been packing my things for the past two weeks and managed to get everything in boxes. But at noon all of those boxes had to be loaded in my car for the long drive to Montreal. Emma helped me load my car. She made sure the GPS was ready to go so that I won't get lost, and that I had everything that I needed. When everything was all loaded, it was just the two of us standing in front of the loaded car, a car that was loaded with pictures and memories from the past 10 years. It was time for us to say goodbye and for me to hit the road. I could see the tears start to form in Emma's eyes and could feel them in mine. We just stared at each other, thinking about all those long hour conversations that were sometimes emotional, all the times we ordered our favourite pizza and the chinese food, all those crazy photos we took, and all the laughs and memories we made in this apartment. "I might be moving to another city but this is not the end. It's only the beginning of a much bigger story" I told Emma as I gave her a big hug. "I know. It is new start for both of us. Our friendship is strong enough to withstand the distance. I will just miss you like crazy because I am so used to having you around, especially you in the morning" replied Emma, with a little laugh at the end. "I'm going to miss you too and I'm only mad if I don't have my coffee right away" I said in reply. "Yes, I know you and your coffee right away. I hope Nate knows to have you coffee ready right when you get up if he wants the good side"said Emma and together we laughed with tears running down our faces. "Promise to come and visit?" asked Lauren, "Yes of course. And you are more then welcome to come visit. You will always have a room here." replied Emma. After the long goodbye was exchanged, it was time for me to hit the road. As I drove away I looked off my mirror and saw Emma standing on the sidewalk waving goodbye. I looked onto the road ahead thinking about everything that Emma and I have shared and everything that we will continue to share, but I am also thinking about this new adventure with Nate and how we will be able to share every single day together.
