"Drop the gun Mr. Matthews."
"And what makes you think I'm going to? Your just a little girl."
"Put the gun down and we can all leave without anyone getting hurt."
"They'll never get me in jail. I'm not afraid to shoot."
"Then why have you just been standing here? Go ahead. Shoot."
"James, stop it. He's a criminal, he'll shoot you no question." A voice comes through Ninette's ear piece.
"I got this." She mutters back through her teeth.
She clenches her own gun in her fingers, not moving her eyes off the target.
"You're asking me to shoot you?" He narrows her eyes, focusing in on the trigger.
"Oh, I want you to shoot me." She pleads.
"Miss James, what are you doing?" The voice comes through again, hastier than before.
"Just let take care of this." She grunts back. "So what's it going to be?"
The other gun clicks into place and everyone in the control room jumps in their seats.
"I'll shoot. I will." The man grudges.
"I wouldn't if I were you."
"You watch me! I'll do it!"
"Mr. Matthews, you're facing a 20 year sentence in a federal prison for fraud. If you were to add murder to the list, you'd be locked up for life." Ninette coos menacingly. "So my suggestion would be to take your grimy hands off the gun, admit what you've done and accept the least amount of punishment you can get. So what'll it be?"
He takes a few heavy breaths and aims his gun again, before dropping it on the concrete of the rooftop and falls to the ground with his head in his hands.
"I'm so sorry, Elaine." He mutters the name of his wife through his wracking sobs. "Forgive me."
Ninette returns her gun to its holster and backs away. "Alright, take him away."
"Nice job." A second deep voice comes from behind her and she smiles.
"Agent Williams." She nods nonchalantly.
"Agent James." He plays along, keeping his distance.
Kellan Willams is just another one of the spies in the organiztion.
He was alot older than Ninette but that never stopped them.
But of course no one knew about their secret love affair, that would be strictly against the rules.
However, as usual Ninette would keep up appearances and escape to his apartment when her work is done and the paperwork is filed.
Ninette James was the best agent they's ever had in the organization.
In her two years working for them, she had taken down more criminals in each continent than anyone else on staff.
She was known for her persuasion, often convincing men that they should bow out now before they get charged with something bigger.
It sounds dangerous putting a seventeen year old up against the middle aged men of the mafia, but James came out on top every time.
And tonight was just another acheivement added to the list.
