Nate's POV
"Ready to go?" Mom asks. I nod, pulling a sweatshirt over my head. I walk out to the car and sit on the front seat. "She's getting worse." Mom whispers, breaking the silence.
We are going to the nursing home to see my great grandmother. She's slowly losing her memories. Soon she would forget me. I loved her more then anything and soon she wouldn't even remember me.
She forgets things now. I have to repeat myself over and over. Soon she wouldn't even be able to talk.
We pulled up to the nursing home and found grandma's room. "Hi Grandma!" I say. Her eyes light up. "Nathenial!" she sounded excited to see me.
Soon she wouldn't even remember today.
"How's school going?" she asks. "Good," I answer. "Good," she repeats. "What grade are you in?" she asks and my heart drops because she didn't remember. "I'm a senior." I reply. "Have you thought about college?" she asks and I nod.
We continue talking like this until mom tells me it's time to go. "Bye, grandma." I say. "Goodbye, Nathenial." she says, smiling, her eyes brighter then ever. She would forget me one day, but I would never forget those sparkly blue eyes.
