Chapter 1
"Zeke?!" I yell
"Zeke! This isn't funny!"
I feel the cold salty tears running down my face. Zeke please wake up. I look up at the sky and scream. "WHY WOULD YOU DO THIS TO ME?!" I start to hyperventilate. I hear a car door shut. Nancy. I drag Zeke away from the trees and sprint to Nancy.
"Well he- what's wrong dear?" She asks me
"It's...Zeke, we were having a snowball fight and he started to run into the woods and he hit a really big tree and then a big branch hit him, and-" I pause "I'm really really scared Nancy."
"Oh sweetie this isn't your fault."
"Yes it is, if I hadn't started to walk towards him he would've never hit the tree."
"Skylar, you see all this land?" She asks me
"Yes, but what does-" she cuts me off
"He could've ran over there (she points left) or there (she points right) it's not your fault." She finally looks me over and sees some blood on my coat. "Well we better hurry and call the ambulance." she says.
"I agree, I'll go get Zeke." I say as I walk back down that hill. We've only been here one day and I've messed everything up already. I hate myself. I always mess everything up, once things seem perfect, I always do something to mess it all up. God why do I do this to myself I ask. I see Zeke on the cold snow lying there. If he dies, I'm going with him I promise myself.
