Andrea Castellanos and Nick Jonas, best friends and in love – two halves of one whole.
Andrea was a typical introvert. Quiet, reserved, and preferred to stay in so she could binge watch the next documentary or finish a good book.
Nick Jonas was a typical jock. Baseball star and high school heartthrob. Everyone on campus surrounded him like moths to a flame.
Like most love stories, theirs ended in tragedy. As much as they both tried to keep their relationship from falling apart – the damage was done and there was nothing they could do to fix it. They were the destruction of their own happiness and now they were left crumpled beneath the disaster they left behind.
Now, three months later, Andrea was left to glue back together the pieces of her heart and learn to live a life without Nick Jonas. But what happens when Nick stumbles back into her life? Will love get a second chance or stay in the past where Andrea left it?

I've rewritten this story about three - now four - times already, for a while I was struggling on what I truly wanted this story to be about, and why I was really writing it. These characters have been in my head for about two years now, and I have been working on this plot for the same amount of time. I've finally figure it out.
Everyone believes that your high school sweetheart is never truly the love of your life, because most of the time they don't work out. While some high school love stories live long enough past marriage, others don't and I believe that those love stories paint the path for future relationships. This story is not only about losing your first love, it's about losing yourself within them, finding that piece of yourself, and rebuilding it when they are no longer there.
Sometimes, things fall apart so that you can unlock a piece of yourself you never knew existed. But there is always a light at the end of the tunnel and I hope with Andrea's character you can find that solace. Whether you went through a rough breakup recently or not, I hope with her you can see that no matter how bad things may seem, nothing lasts forever and there is always hope.
Exploring Andrea's story is going to be one hell of a roller coaster ride and I hope you'll strap yourselves in with me. I hope you love her story as much as I love writing it.
