Elle & Mike

"Honey! Wake up! It's your first day in your new school! Don't wanna be late now, don't we?" My mom yelled from downstairs.

I woke up to the sound of her voice. I grabbed my phone saw that my alarmed has been ringing since just now and guess what, I didn't even hear it. It's now 6:45AM. Crap. School starts at 8.

I quickly jumped out of bed and into the shower. Good thing I picked out my outfit last night. What a relief.

I finished showering and put on my clothes. I ran down stairs grabbed a piece of toast and went out. My dad had been waiting for me in the car.

"Young lady, come on! You're going to be late." My dad said and gave a 'come here' sign.

"Bye mom!" I shouted and jumped into the car.

After a short trip. Here I am. I am in my new school. It looks better that my old one.

"Bye darling, I'll pick you up after school." My dad said and drove off.

"Great. I hope I'm not to awkward." I thought to myself. I don't do 'mingle with new people'. If they wanna be friends with me, why not?

I walked inside. I went to look for the principals' office. I walked and walked. It's still quite early, there's 10 minutes before class starts. Then I suddenly bumped into one student.

"Oh I'm sorry." I said with an awkward smile.

"Hey Sorry. I'm Mike" One student said and offered his hand.

"No. I'm Elle." I said sarcastically and accepted his hand shake.

"I like you already." He said and smirked.

"Please. Save it for someone who would believe it." I said and walked away.

He chased me and caught up to me.

"Looking for something? Maybe I can help?" He asked politely.

"Maybe you could. I'm looking for the principals' office. Do you where that is?" I asked him.

"Yeah, it's just up ahead. It's the door first on your right after that bookshelf." He said and pointed the direction.

"Thanks!" I said and smiled.

"That's more like it." He said giggling.

"Yeah, I have to go. Thanks again." I said and walked into the principals' office.

"Good morning. I'm Elle and I'm here to pick up my class schedule." I greeted to the principal.

"Ms. Philips! Good Morning! Glad to see you here today. Here's your schedule. Have fun on your first day." The principal said and handed me my schedule.

"Thanks!" I smiled and walked out.

First period is English. This better be good. The schedule said room 3. That's not far. I found the room and went inside. Thankfully the teacher wasn't there yet. I stood by the door and glanced at the room. It looks nice. The students were making so much noise and something caught my eyes. It's Mike. He's waving at me.

I went to sit beside him. I mean, I don't know anybody else here. I kinda have no choice.

"We have the same first period together." He said and laughed.

"That's right captain obvious." I said sarcastically. I'm just a really sarcastic person.

"Maybe we got off on the wrong foot just now or something. I don't really know. But let's start over. I'm Mike and I think I like you." He said with a really cute smile.

"No. I think this is way worse than just now." I said and looked away.

"Okay then, I'm Mike and we have English period together. How's that?"

He said followed by a laugh.

"That's better. I'm Elle and thanks for the directions just now." I said with a smile.

"Glad I could help." He said and gave me a thumbs up.

I don't know but he's really charming and attractive. What am I feeling? Gosh Elle. Control yourself!

This was a long day and thank god it's all over. I went out of school and I was waiting for my dad near some basketball court beside the school's main building.

"ELLE!" I heard someone called me from behind.

"Mike! Hey!" I greeted back.

"Waiting for someone?" He asked.

"Yeah, just for my dad." I replied.

"Right. Okay. So Elle, I just wanted to say that your amazing and maybe we could have coffee sometimes?" He said and he looked into my eyes and smiled.

"Sounds good." I said and smiled.

"Great! Can I have your number? I'll call you." He said and he took out his phone.

"Sure. Here." I told him my number and he told his to me as well. We basically, exchanged numbers. Wow. I got a friend on the first day of school! How truly unbelievable.

"I'll call you." He said and smiled.

"Yeah sure. I'll pick up." I said and laughed.

"You're funny." He said.

"It's just me laughing at my own jokes. So yeah." I stated with a laugh.

I saw my dad's car coming.

"My dad's here. I have to go and coffee sounds great. Bye." I said and went to my dad's car. I looked back and saw him waving. I waved back.

"Made a friend?" My dad questioned.

"Exchanged numbers too." I said and laughed.

"Good." He said and smiled.

Went home and can't stop thinking about Mike. Why oh why?

My phone rang and there was a message.

"Hey. Maybe want to grab coffee and cupcakes with me tomorrow after school? I can drive you home." - Mike

I blushes and went down to ask my parents permission and luckily they said yes. I quickly replied to him message.

"That sounds fun. Sure. See ya tomorrow!" - Elle

I received another message.

"Great! Can't wait. See ya!" - Mike

"I think it's a good start." I thought to myself and went to bed.
