Disclaimer: I know most people don't like to read prologues, myself included. I highly suggest you read this one. It isn't the most entertaining thing I have written but it isn't very long and I use it to explain the main story so you will be confused if you don't read this prologue. Feel free to skip to Chapter 1 but you will do yourself a favor if you read this first.

Intra.
Ecto.
The good and the bad. Constantly fighting against each other.
It's never that simple though. Of course not, everyone knows that.
Ecto. Think of damage the mafia can cause. Now think bigger, smarter, stronger, more clever, and stealth beyond belief.
The mafia bases most of their victims off of family, failed business connections, and love. Ecto doesn't work like that. They are essentially an evil force available by contract. All of those millionaires and billionaires, they don't naturally have the power to do anything. They just have the money. Someone else has the power. That someone is Ecto. Whatever people want they deliver. Of course it comes at price but what in life doesn't?
Someone wants their ex-wife's new husband killed because they simply don't like him? Ecto will do it. Not only will they do it but they will do it so well no one will ever know that it was purposeful. Perhaps it was a just a terrible car wreck that unfortunately took his life or maybe it was a fatal episode of food poisoning. Maybe someone saw their used to be friend who betrayed them coming out with a brand new piece of amazing technology. Ecto could ruin the new release in anyway desired and frame the creator. With a nice sum of money they could break peoples, lives, careers, and anything else. Whatever they were asked to do, they did, and they did it impeccably well. Of course Ecto also did personal missions sometimes but that was saved for rare special occasions.
No one ever finds out about them in the real world that everyone else operates in. Only those in the area of supreme intelligence, power and force knows of them.
This is where Intra comes in.
Intra has spies. Countless spies. Not just any spies. These spies usually just go about living their lives as they please but meanwhile they have to scope out new agents for Intra. They find the new agents as children. Throughout their childhood they are monitored and Intra subtly encourages them to do things such as martial arts, hunting, computer science and anything else that could be used as an agent. The candidates' parents will get sent flyers for these sort of things and Intra's spies make sure the child continues to be what they are looking for. At any point in the subtle training period Intra can decide they are no longer fitting for the program and drop all connection with them. The new agents are notified of their new position at age eighteen. It is then that they begin training. The training, for the most part, is incorporated into their normal lives except for some specialized weapon and technology training. During their twenty-first year they start working for Intra. Every person working for Intra is given a companion that they are assigned to until death of one person or complete and utter disagreement.
Intra targets all evil. They can also be used by contract but only to combat evil. Intra's main target has always been and always will be, Ecto. Whatever Ecto is doing Intra is there to try and stop them.
Intra is in the complete and total control of Ashcroft.
