i meet him every night, at midnight, at the ocean shore.
as he swiftly lifts his head in the mist of the ocean currents and his dirty blonde hair sways for the strong wind of the fall night, I think that there is no creature more beautiful than this thing before me.
he lifts his head higher showing his slender, scrawny form.
i can now see why he was such an easy target for the fisherman who discovered his existence not too long ago. at least he was able to swim away before any permanent damage got to him.
after all, he is a merman. The ocean is his home.
me? my name is vincent coreman, and i'm an ocean biologist that found grayson laying on the ocean floor (which wasn't that deep yet since i wasn't too far off of shore) while i was scuba diving look for study material to further my research.
[FLASHBACK]
"my eyes were playing tricks on me for sure... but just to make sure..." i got closer to the lifeless creature.
no, this wasn't a trick. this was real. a real merman.
after some contemplating, i realized that i do live on a beach house not to far from here, so i decided to take him to my lab.
somehow, i traveled there unnoticed. once i got to the enclosed room i laid the body on the stretcher.
it didn't occur to me until now that this... thing... is half fish. "shit..." i tried to find a way to have water circulating through his respiratory system once again instead of air.
as i was frantically searching for a solution to my current problem, the creature started uncontrollably flopping and jerking back and forth and fell off the stretcher onto the floor.
well this is bad.
(a/n ayyee I left it at a cliffhanger. sorry if this is crap and you hate it. i hate me, too so it's fine)
