Mrs. Casey already knew what was wrong with Lacey. She was going to tell Penney maybe. But all she could think for the rest of the day and night was " If only she knew. "
The next day there was school, but a lot of snow and ice. Penney walked to school. Ready to be confronted by Mrs. Casey again that day. Penney got to school, but Lacey wasn't there that day. But she missed a lot of school, so Penney wasn't really alarmed about that. The whole day went by pretty normally. Just like any day was when Lacey wasn't there. But the strange thing was that mrs. Casey wasn't there. They had a substitute. But Penney didn't care. She was actually kind of happy. So the rest of the day went by. At 8:00 at night Penney got a text from Lacey.
