Annabelle's POV
"Mom?" I cried out into the night. My hands were engulfed in flames. I heard the creaking of the door to my parents room. A small ball of water danced in my right hand.
I heard no reply. I stood my ground as a hooded figure pushed open the door and slid across the floor. I tried blasting it with flames, then water. The figure waved its bony fingers and the bursts would cease.
When the tip of the hood was an inch from my nose it stopped. It just stood there for a moment. Then, it spoke. Its voice was quiet and raspy.
"Beware, dangers lie ahead. Find the other hybrids. There are two more. A fairy of ice and earth, and a fairy of muse and storm. Find them." She began to walk away. I still had so many questions to ask.
Soon the world around me faded to black. I opened up my eyes and found myself in my room, the sun's orange light hiding behind my purple curtains.
"It was all a dream," I mumbled. I grabbed my sketchbook from my dresser and wrote down what the figure said.
Ice and earth I knew. Those are Hayden's powers. Muse and storm. I really don't know.
My stomach lurched. I knew if I was going to get anywhere with this I needed food.
