"Hey mom! I'm back at the apartment." I said into the phone.
"Your apartment? I thought you were staying with Ethan and Grayson for a few days" my mom said.
"I came home early." I said standing up, pacing.
"Why honey?" She asked.
"Well, you know how I've always had a crush on Ethan? Well, he kinda kissed me last night." I said.
"Oh sweety thats great!" She said cheerfully.

"But mom, this morning he went on a date with some girl." I said.
"Oh honey. Im so sorry." She said.

"Mom, I'm not going to let it bother me anymore. This is my first actual night in my apartment. I'm not going to focus on Ethan and the Shelby chick." I said looking out my window.
"Do you still have feelings for him?"She asked.

"Of course! I still love him. Him and Grayson are my best friends-" I said.
"I meant feelings as in crush." She said.
"yes, I still like him that way." I said.
"Did I just loose the bet?" I heard my step dad yell.
"No, babe. The bet's still on." My mom said to him
"Well you guys can stop that bet." I said.

"What bet?" I heard from behind me. I turned around and saw Ethan standing there.
"I'll call you tomorrow mom. Love you bye." I said to my mom, quickly hanging up the phone.

"What are you doing here?" I asked nervously.
"I need to talk to you." He said walking towards me.
"How was your date?" I asked him.
"Terrible. I couldn't shut up about you." He said now standing right infront of me.
"About me?" I asked.
"Everything she said or asked about I found a way to bring you up." He said.

"Listen Katie. I only went on this date to see if I could ever get over the crush I have on you." Ethan said reaching for my hands.
"Why would you want to find that out?" I asked.
"Because I didn't think you actually liked me." He said.
"What made you think that? The back ground on my phone, me blushing when you come in a room?" I started to get irritated.
"Katie, Grayson told me you were crying." He said. My face dropped.
"I've never even seen you cry. Especially over me." He said putting a strand of hair behind my ear.

"Ethan it wasn't a big deal." I said trying to walk away. He stopped me and pushed my back against the window.
"It is a big deal Kate. I really like you. You know that. For almost 3 years now, all I've ever thought about was you." He said looking into my eyes.
"Could we ever be more than friends?" He sort of whispered.

"Are you asking me out?" I asked smiling a little.
"I guess I am." He laughed.
"Well do it then." I said smiling.
"Katie, will you please be my girlfriend?" He asked. I didn't say anything. I wrapped my arms around his neck and pulled him in for a kiss.
"I'm guessing thats a yes?" He asked with his arms around my waist.
"Yes." I said and kissed him again.

A few hours later, we laid cuddled up on my couch watching tv.
"So what bet?" He asked.
"Huh?" I asked looking at him.
"You mentioned a bet on the phone earlier." He said. I turned around to fully face him and laughed.
"Oh, my mom and Mark have a bet. Mom thinks youd ask me out within a month of me living here. Mark thinks a week." I said. He laughed.
"Congratulations Mark." He said making me laugh. He kissed me and pulled me closer to him.
"I'm so happy i can finally do that." He said leaning his forehead on mine.

"Hey Gray. Looks like you and Izzy got the apartment to yourselves tonight." Ethan said into the phone.
"Why you guys kiss and make up?" Grayson teased.
"Actually, we did." Ethan said.
"Wait what?" Grayson asked.
"Gotta go, my girl needs me." Ethan said.
"Damn, didn't think you had it in ya. See ya bro." Grayson said. Ethan hung up the phone and walked into my room. I laid on my bed scrolling through my old texts messages with Ethan.
"What you doing babe?" He asked, laying next to me.
"Reading our old text messages." I said laughing. He laid his head on my shoulder and read them with me.

"Oh my god, remember that?!" Ethan asked pointing to the phone.
"Oh my god." I said.

The messages read:

Ethan: I know this is weird but are you a virgin?
Kaitlyn: Yes, are you?
Ethan: Sadly Yes.
Kaitlyn: lol
Ethan: well since we're pretty much already best friends, wanna make a deal?
Kaitlyn: what kind of deal?
Ethan: to be each other's first?
Kaitlyn: That sounds good. When we're both ready though.
Ethan: of course!

"So did you keep up your end of the deal?" I asked him.
"Actually yes, did you?" He asked.
"Yea. I forgot about it though." I said.
"I didnt." He said.
"Awe baby." I said. I kissed his lips and he sat up to kiss me better.
"Do you want to keep the deal?" He asked.

"Well I'm yours now. I'm not going to be sleeping with any one else." I said.
"Are you suggesting you want to have sex with me?" He asked.
"Pretty much. When we're both ready." I said, pushing his hair out of his face. I sat my phone down and looked at him.

"When do you think you'll be ready?" He asked me.
"I dont know. We made that deal when we were just friends." I said.
"So does us dating effect you being ready?" He asked making me laugh.
"Maybe, I dont know." I said.
"You'll know when I'm ready." I told him.
"How?" He asked.
"You'll just know." I said. He looked confused then kinda figured it out and kissed me.
I laughed into the kiss. He smiled at me.
"I'm so lucky." He said.
"No, I'm so lucky." I said. He kissed me again and cuddled into me, nuzzling his face in my neck. I ran my fingers through his hair as we went to sleep.
