So you want to play an active role in the Real Writers Revolution? Congratulations, you've come to the right place.
Most of the work so far is reading. This is what you will mostly be doing if you become a moderator. However, you also need to be able to write honest reviews. Below I have complied the guidelines to being a moderator for The Real Writers Revolution. Once again, I thank you so much for the support!
BASIC RULES FOR BECOMING A MOD.
1. You must enjoy Fantasy and/or Sci-Fi. This is kinda given, but I just want to put it in concrete. There is no requirement for you to enjoy reading both, just one or the other. Both of course is better ;)
2. You have to be able to write HONEST, CONSTRUCTIVE, and INSIGHTFUL reviews. This means nothing wishy washy. If you notice a flaw, point it out, NICELY. If you can give an example, give it. Even if the total review takes longer than one comment, please still give it.
I'm also asking that you submit a few sample reviews (comments on other peoples' stories) that you made VIA PM. A simple copy and paste will suffice.
3. You must have a basic understanding of Wattpad. This means, you know how to vote, fan, share, comment - all the basic things that make Wattpad, Wattpad.
4. If you enjoyed the chapter(s) you read, leave a vote(s). Lots of people don't bother doing this. Our job isn't to be a silent reader. It's to get these people the recognition they deserve.
This means, if you enjoyed what you read, leave a vote. Just click that orange button at the bottom of the page. And don't just do it on the last chapter you read. Do it on every chapter that you read and enjoyed.
5. You must read at least one chapter (plus prologue if available). No more is required, but you must read at least one complete chapter of one story before calling it a day. It's also a good idea to comment on each chapter as you go.
Prologues are NOT included in chapter counts. Sorry guys :)
They're the basic rules. Now for what you do:
1. PM this account, @HiddenFantasySciFi. Make it simple. State that you are interested in being a Mod, what genre(s) you enjoy reading, and 1 or 2 copy/pasted reviews you've made on other stories.
Once I've read the PM, unless you write really bad reviews, you'll be welcomed with open and grateful arms, and your name will be added to the mod list on the Bio page.
2. Assuming you get past step 1, start reading! Click on the "To Be Moderated" tab of the reading list, and take your pick. Pick any. They're added in the order they're submitted, so if you want to be really organized, you could all make a little comment on the Message Board saying "Reading - xyz". That is, of course, up to you :)
Make sure you follow the rules of reading, as set above in the rules :)
3. Submit your review via PM. The review MUST be submitted in the below format. Each chapter plus the prologue must have there reviews submitted in separate messages.
Format:
-Name of Story
-Main Genre (Fantasy/Sci-Fi)
-Chapter Number/Name
-Verdict (Not Sure, Not a Hope, Needs Work, Good, Great, Amazing) [do NOT post this verdict publicly!]
-Review
-You [user]name
-Link to story
Repeat this formula for every chapter of every story you review. They'll be posted in a review book eventually.
4. Once a story receives three or more reviews, I'll post them all up in a review book, and put the story in its appropriate List. That's basically it. The story will also be removed from the "To be Moderated" list. After that, keep reading!
Of course, you don't have to just read things in the moderated list. If you saw a story there and it was removed before you got to it, you can read it just for fun. The rules of above will not apply, you can read it however you wish.
Once again, a massive THANK YOU to all the people out there giving this so much darn support. I'm honestly surprised by how much of a warm welcome it's receiving. I thought maybe I'd get a few people, and then just snarky comments on how stuck up I was being.
Also, DON'T POST REQUESTS TO BE A MOD IN THE COMMENTS!!!!!!!!!! I will dubiously ignore all such comments!!!!
And, I may get really obsessive compolsive and put next to each mod's name what story they're currently reading. So you may want to let me know, lol :)
