Elijah's POV

"Wake up, sleeping beauty." I felt someone poking me at my side.

"Stop it. Go away." Groaning, I shifted to my left facing the window to my right. Wrong move, the rays of the fat yellow sun is blinding me even with my eyes closed.

"You know, you have tons of work to do." Getting more awake, I recognize the voice.

"I know, Margie. No need to remind me." Sitting up, I rubbed my eyes to remove away some excess sleepiness.

"I do need to remind you, it is 10 o'clock already. If I didn't wake you up, you would have been still lying there, dead to the world, fat ass." Margie scolded. Sometimes, I think she is my mom, just younger.

"I'm definitely not fat." I stood up and went to the bathroom to completely wash all the sleepiness away.

"Lucas said he'll bring the Jonas guy in your office at 10:30. Also I'll go out with Daisy today, BYE!" She quickly ran and closed the door with a bang.

"Margie!" That girl would only tell me her plans the last minute. Typical teenager.

Huffing I just decided to take a bath. After a few minutes of showering, I went to my closet and chose to wear a guns and roses shirt given by my mom and a pair of dark jeans.

"Lucas, in 10 minutes I'll be at the office. Is Jonas awake?" I linked Lucas.

"Yup, you're the one should be asked if awake. I'll go get him. Nate's on his way." I chuckled. He's right. Well, I like sleeping.

I walked through the hallways of the pack house. Our pack house is a mix of vintage and modern designs. The house itself is an old one, about hundreds of years passed down to all the Alphas of the Midnight pack. Renovations after renovations were done to the building. It's huge. A total of 104 rooms and three levels. We let the unmated and teenagers live in the dorms of the pack house. The right wing for the girls and the left wing for the boys. The center is the common area. My office is at the 2nd level, my room a few steps away from my office.

"Boo!" Nate stepped out behind a huge pillar next to my office's door

"Boo!" Nate stepped out behind a huge pillar next to my office's door. I knew he was there.

"Oh! Wow! I'm so shocked!" sarcasm dripping all around us.

"You're not surprised?" his face confused. Sometimes I doubt his fighting skills and why he's my second in command. He's in charged with the pack's fighters. He helps with the tactics and techniques but as a friend he's the goofiest.

"Of course I am surprised. That was unexpected at all, especially when I smelled you the moment I stepped out of my room and your foot peeking out from where you sprang out." I opened the double doors and went straight to my recliner. Nate in my tail. Pouting, I may add. He's in his late 20s, for Pete's sake.
